Vornado EVDC300 Humidifier: Quiet Operation, Adjustable Settings, Portable, 500-800 sq. ft. Room, 24-Hour Run Time

These units don't last. The first lasted a few months, they replaced it and the second on only a few weeks.

Our first Vornado humidifiers were the EVD300. I really liked them until they started leaking all over the place. The issue could be a simple design fix but I haven't seen them do anything about the fact that the silicone seal on the bottom of the water tank is way too thin !!... I ended up have to use jelly roll pans to place them on to catch the leaking water. The company did replace the tanks and silicone rings but that really doesn't solve leaking. If they made a sealed water tank on the bottom with an open fill top on the tank, it would be perfect !! I ended up not using them anymore and switched to their EV3 black model. Much better...fills from the top. Vornado....you can do better with this.

Winter is here and I brought out this humidifier I bought less than a year ago. I paid a good bit of money for it and only used it a few times last winter, so I'm very annoyed that it won't even power on now when I plug it in. Fortunately, I have a (much) less expensive humidifier that is mechanically/electrically simpler but WORKS. Save your money and buy something less fincky... :(

Compared to our previous ultrasonic humidifier and small fan (to circulate the water vapor in our bedroom), this is vastly quieter and almost as effective. Doesn’t crank as much water into the room, but the upsides of less noise and no white powder and not feeling the chilly breeze MORE than make up for it. We’re already planning to replace another humidifier on the main floor with a larger model Vornado.

It is unpretentious and very simple to maintain, you just need to pour water and turn it on, that’s all it takes.

I had surgery a few weeks ago and we had this going non stop to help my lungs clear easily as I wasn’t moving around as much as normal. The noise level is nice and it puts out a good amount of moisture. It has a wick already installed and it’s antibacterial which is a huge bonus to help keep it hygienic. The one thing that kind of surprised me is that you don’t twist the canister to remove it from the device to refill with water. You simply lift! Nice and easy but for some reason I thought you would need to twist. You don’t. Super simple to set up and maintenance. It helps my lungs, skin, and nasal passages stay hydrated especially during the cooler months.

It has a 3 gallon water tank, with 24-hour moisture output, that makes it sensible to use. I love the digital display, which makes it straightforward and easy to read. I like how it has an energy smart function that enables the unit to turn off automatically. When it runs, it's super quiet and energy efficient. The only downfall and reason for 4 stars is how you fill up the unit. You have to make sure the lid is secured right as you turn the tank upside down and then fit it to the rest of the system. If not all aligned, it will leak. Other than that, this humidifier is perfect and easy to clean and maintain.

This unit has three parts that simply rest together and need to make electrical contact with one another. This means the unit shuts off all the time when the contact is broken. Also the lid on the tank is very difficult to remove such that most people would not be able to do it easily.
