If the mist only rises halfway, it may be due to mineral buildup or a misaligned water tank. Love this machine!

I had bought one of these models a couple years ago and have had a good experience. I decided to get a 2nd one to keep permanently in my child's room during the winter. Of course, the brand new one has issues. It won't turn on if plugged into an extension chord, so I plugged it directly into the wall outlet. While it did turn on, it will only push out mist if it's turned on halfway or higher, which produces TOO much mist for the size of the room. It's useless to me if I'm not able to run it on low, so I'll have to return it. What a pain.

Not quiet and very messy
The good: it's attractive, live customer service humans are easily reachable. The bad: though the Honeywell website states 'ultra quiet' it is not. The fan is quiet but there is a constant sound of running water, like dribbling into a basin. More bad: you cannot remove the tank and fill it without a watery mess. It drips from the bottom and when you lift the tank from the base. When you invert it to fill, it drips from the top. Messy every time. Combine this with the numerous reviews citing operational failure, this is going back. The overall rating here is inflated by the Influenster rates, which are all glowing.

Sets off my air purifier

While it's been helpful to have, the humidifier sets off my air purifier for some reason. We have them placed pretty far apart, but it still sets it off! We plan to move the humidifier to another room in the future. Just be aware that this can cause other appliances to react to it!

Stopped Misting After 3 Days
I really liked that this humidifier has a compartment for essential oils — that’s a great feature and makes it versatile. Unfortunately, it started having problems after just a few days. The unit was noisier than expected, and then the fan suddenly stopped working. While mist was being made, it no longer pushed out, making the humidifier ineffective. Disappointing experience for something brand new.

It was a nice quiet humidifier when we first got it. Worked smoothly for about 3 weeks. The fan started making a grinding sound so I tried cleaning it. It did not stop the sound. I got rid of it.
