A: We would not recommend that as salt can be quite corrosive and will likely damage the unit.

A: Thanks for your question! That actually a design feature of the Canopy Humidifier. With our Smart Persistent Airflow (SPA) technology, there's no way to turn the Canopy Humidifier fully off while there's still water in the tray. Pushing the button to switch to the Off setting will shut down your humidifier for a while, but if there's still water present it will reactivate and run until all the water has been used. This is to maintain the best possible performance and reduce the possibility of mold growth. If you would like to shut your Canopy Humidifier off quickly we recommend removing the water tank and emptying it, as well as the tray. Once this has been done and you put it back together the fan will run until it dries out the remaining moisture. You can set it to High to quickly dry the filter. Do not force turn off your humidifier by unplugging it while there is still water in the tray. Leaving water stagnant in the tank and tray can increase the likelihood of mold growth.
