Description

The Alliance evaporative humidifier is one of our largest whole house humidifiers. It covers up to 3700 square feet. The Alliance holds 5.4 gallons of water and runs up to 45 hours per fill. If you need full house humidity and you like long stretches between refills, this is a good model for you. The Alliance uses one 1045 Super Wick® (included). Add our 1051 air filter (sold separately) to help purify your air as you humidify. The Alliance features four fan speeds, an adjustable humidistat, auto shutoff, refill indicator, and check filter indicator.

Q: How would I clean the humidifier?

  • A: Hello! Here are the cleaning instructions. This information can also be found in your owner's manual. Let the unit run until it’s empty, then turn it off and unplug it. 2. Remove everything from the cabinet. Throw your wick away if it is time to replace it. Otherwise, put it in a sink while you finish cleaning your Alliance. 3. Pour out any remaining water from the cabinet and water bottle. 4. Fill the cabinet half-full of water and add 1 cup of white vinegar. Let sit for 20 minutes. To disinfect, replace the vinegar with 1 teaspoon of bleach. Do not mix vinegar and bleach. 5. Fill the water bottle half-full of water and add 1 cup of white vinegar. Put the cap back on, shake the bottle gently, then let sit for 20 minutes. To disinfect, replace the vinegar with 1 teaspoon of bleach in each bottle. 6. After 20 minutes, empty the cabinet and bottle. 7. Dampen a sponge with white vinegar and wipe down the cabinet, bottle, and float rod (rinse the Styrofoam float with water only). Rinse everything thoroughly. To disinfect, replace the vinegar with bleach. Wipe down the bottle, float rod, and cabinet interior only. 8. Wipe everything dry and replace the wick, if needed. Leaking water under

It was good until it's start leaking under, and i find tiny line under right next to water low mechanical sensor . So plastic is low quality.

The EP9800 is Serious Gear For A Healthful Winter!

Absolutely love my EP9800 unit!! Been using this for years and just now thinking of getting another one. The uptick in quality of life that you get from humidified air is incredible - it is a medical upgrade in life to run a humidifier in your home. ===> The only issue that I have is the plastic filter housing is simply weird. Why is it so obtuse to change a filter? Those little tabs to open up the housing want to break. I would be completely willing to pay more for an upgraded housing for the filter. But I really appreciate that the filters are affordable. People, please don't be a cheap...change your filter regularly and you will be rewarded with cool moist air in the dry months. Carry On!!

Poor manufacturing, poor support.

For the first seasons this worked great. After many bottle fills however, the plastic fins that guide the filled bottle to it’s landing site started to break off. Now, for some reason the bottle over fills the reservoir and a mess on the floor ensues.(replaced cap,, still leaks out) I called, talked to a ‘rep’, sent pixs and let him hear the sound of the bottle continuing to ‘leak’ out. He said he would consult and get back to me. Did not happen. Where is support? Model H12 400HB humidifier

Cheap Plastic and quit working after 20 minutes

I set this all up and followed the instructions. I filled the tank, then let it all drain out into the humidifier, then refilled it. Letting it sit for 20 minutes, then turned it on. It worked great and the humidity went up to 30% and then it just stopped working. I unplugged it, and even googled for tips. NOTHING. The device is supposed to stay on when it's set at 65% which it didn't, I tried moving the humidity level, and it still didn't start the fan. Super disappointed. Also, this is super cheap plastic and really poorly made. I think the small $50 are built better, but I needed it for a large 1k sq ft space.

BUYER BEWARE!

WE HATE EVERYTHING about this humidifier. EVERYTHING has to sit PERFECTLY inside it in order to work. The hose they provide to fill the tank has NO viability & caused our faucet to leak. We fill it with a funnel & milk jug now. It’s flimsy, SUPER LOUD, & you have to spend a LOT of time making sure everything is sitting JUST RIGHT when you fill it or change the filter. We just noticed water all over our floor b/c a piece of plastic has broken off that holds the water tank in place. The piece floated under where the floater sits & the “jet” (it’s SO LOUD) would shut off & we’d think it was empty. Fill it up & apparently it was leaking out the back. We didn’t know b/c we got new flooring & I wanted to protect it so I put a rug & towel under it. We are now out all this money b/c we’ve been using it since October. Buy anything else other than this 1.

Not worth the money

Loud and flimsy. Arrived broken and they did send a replacement. However every time I have to refill it, I have to shake the entire unit for the fan to come back on. Would not recommend this one!

Loud and poorly designed

I have had two of these which is dumb on my part but there aren't many good choices for whole-home or large-room humidifiers. Its crazy loud. hard to fill up. If you move with water in it can spill on the floor. We have a well and the hard water chokes the filter and messes up the nebulizer plate or whatever it's called. It's big and boxy and cheaply made. So I would NOT advise getting one. The challenge is the highest rated ones on CR all are for regular size bedrooms

Flimsy plastic

The whole unit is made up of flimsy plastic. The fan must have been broken off during shipping because it just flops around in the top piece. Everything was coated in a white dust and the whole unit had to be wiped down inside and out. Returning this, too expensive to be this cheaply made.

Simple, but good

The humidifier is a simple tank/absorber, but it works well. Minor issues include the level float won't go high enough to turn back on if allowed to low enough to turn it off (low water level), but since the tank and resevor can supply enough water for two days its not a big issue (just reach into the tank and tap the top of the float's stick up a mm). The motor's lowest setting is a bit noisy, but it moves air around fast enough that in my apartment it can shut off after 10 minutes.
