CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Face and Body Lotion for Normal to Dry Skin – 8 fl oz: Unscented, Hyaluronic Acid, Pump Bottle

This CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion has been the only lotion I have used for the last 20 years. I buy 3 bottles at a time, to put in my bathroom, kitchen, and bedroom. I have very sensitive skin and have tried many lotions in my life, but this one has always been the best for me. This week, I ordered 3 new bottles from Target. They arrived today and I replaced my old, almost-empty bottles with the new ones. As soon as I used the lotion in the new bottles, however, I could smell a very off-putting, strange, "plastic" smell -- and it was the same with all 3. I compared the smell of the new lotion with the smell of the lotion in my 3 almost-empty bottles, and there was a clear difference. I have never had CeraVe that smells like this. I thought that maybe they have changed the formula, and maybe it will dissipate after being on the skin, so I took a shower this evening, then applied lotion from one of the new bottles. It is an hour later now, and unfortunately I can smell this weird smell emanating from my skin. I don't know if these particular bottles were stored incorrectly (which would be unlike Target), or if the lotion's formula has changed, but I am very disappointed. I am not going to be able to use these new bottles. Later this week, I will buy one bottle locally, and see how it smells. I hope this unpleasant odor is a one-off problem, and not due to a new formula! When I came to this product listing to write my review, I scrolled down to see if anyone in the last few months has complained of a change in scent of this product, and just last month, a customer left a review saying that this lotion smells bad, like a "burnt candle wick" (or something like that) -- and I am pretty sure that she/he was smelling the same smell that I am. For the last 20 years, I would always have given this lotion 5 stars out of 5, but for this review of my new bottles bought this week, I have to give it a much lower rating.

Loved the way it moisturized my skin. However I noticed after a few weeks of use, I developed redness. Apparently the hyaluronic acid was too much for my skin. Had to discontinue use.

I've been buying this lotion for years! I am not a skincare enthusiast by any means. I hate using multiple products, and I'd rather use something that's a one-and-done solution. This CeraVe lotion on my face and neck (after washing with CeraVe Renewing SA Cleanser) is all that I need. I actually got compliments from a few friends when I first started using it, saying my skin looked "healthy and hydrated."

This is my favorite face lotion. Light weight, not greasy. And its derm recommended.

I keep this on my nightstand. Every night before I go to bed I use this on my hands. Best hydration for year around but especially in winter when my hands crack. I don’t know of any other lotion that hydrates like this one. It can be a bit pricey but worth the money!

I wish they had a bigger size

This lotion feels lightweight and absorbs quickly without leaving my skin greasy . It keeps my skin hydrated all day and works really well for normal to dry skin, even under makeup.

I use this moisturizer every morning and night and it’s a must in my routine. I have a mixed skin and this product hydrates really well without feeling greasy. During winter it helps keep my skin soft and without texture.

Why does it contain methyparaben?

BUYER BEWARE ! This is a product containing cheap and dangerous ingredients. Both methyl and propyl parabens should not be in this product . They caused a severe rash

This product is really good for your skin because they’re moisturizers and hydrates. Your skin moisture is really important for your skin so it doesn’t get dry and also this product lasts very long. I had this for a month now and it’s just finishing and it’s really really really nice and it also doesn’t cost a lot. The packaging is really good and secured and the scent is OK.

Feels like a drink of water for your skin

I’ve been using this moisturizer for years now. It’s a nice lightweight moisturizer that doesn’t feel heavy on the skin. With its basic ingredients; it’s not going to break you out. It’s fresh under makeup or just on its own!
