Lands' End ClassMate Backpack

My daughter loved this bag and it did a great job until the zipper broke on the back compartment. Now the bag is unusable. Others have stated the same thing happened to them. This must be a design flaw of the bag. The zipper first broke one direction, now it won’t work in either direction. Really disappointed as I was hoping for a good quality bag that would last a few years.

It’s already coming unstitched and falling apart 😔 my kinder kiddo has been using it since September and is very careful with her belongings. I’ve had Walmart backpacks last longer and for way cheaper.

Love this excellent quality backpack. It's the perfect size for my petite kindergartener. Furthermore, the interior has space for a full size folder and lunch box. And the fabric and it's bright colors have held up well to repeat washings. My only complaint is that the size of its exterior pocket, which I like to use to pack convenient school snacks, is very small and shallow. One cannot zip it shut with a lot of standard size Tupperware inside or multiple snacks. I wish the manufacturer would increase the pocket size to match the size of it's larger backpacks.

My grandson requested this backpack due to the camo print. Because I had previously given him a LE backpack ( which is still in great shape) I knew the quality would be worth the price. He loves it and is very cool in kindergarten.

I purchased this backpack for my niece. She is in the 2nd grade. She loves it. Just the right size for her. She can put her lunch and all her pictures and papers in it. The daisy design is perfect for a young girl.

Paper thin book bag that broke second day of school.

My granddaughter, was so excited to tell me that she was getting a new backpack this year. She told me it was in their Lands End catalog. We looked it up online and it was on sale and that day was the last for the sale. Anyway I told her if she would help me with a couple things I would order it, along with the matching lunch box and pencil case. It was such a good sale that we had to order something else to get free shopping and she picked out a pretty top. It made my day to get something special for her, thanks.

I bought this as a birthday gift for our granddaughter, who loves dinosaurs. She was thrilled to receive it!

This is the type of backpack I would expect to get for free at a conference or camp giveaway. I just received it, but can already tell the zippers will break, the water bottle holder will rip and it will not be comfortable. I was expecting a basic, quality backpack - nothing extraordinary. But even at the 40% discount, this bag is not worth it. I will be returning immediately.

I bought this backpack for my three year old daughter to take to preschool, expecting many years of use. She's now in kindergarten and after two and a half years of carrying around mainly nap blankets, stuffed animals, and the odd homework folder, the bottom of the bag has a hole worn in it. We aren't talking about a college student with heavy textbooks, we are talking about a small child carrying around stuffies. My son who is two years older has a backpack from another brand that is still in perfect condition after 5 years of use. No sign of wear or holds on the bottom of his bag! I like Land's End clothing and I expected for this backpack to get my daughter all through elementary school but now I'm never buying a Land's End backpack again. I called Land's End to tell them I was disappointed about the quality and they told me there was nothing they can do. The old lifetime guarantee is long gone (and because my backpack was personalized I guess it doesn't matter that it wears out before its time, no refunds!)

I bought a small for my twins who are in prek. Perfect size for them for several years at minimum. Fits folders fine.

I bought this for my 6th grader and I expected it to last atleast until Christmas but it has already torn. It’s a cheaper feel than I would expect for this brand. He has only used it for 6 weeks. Thankfully I’m about to return it and get my money back.
