I appreciate the easy installation and that no drilling was needed. It's great that it comes with an anti-trip ramp, a built-in cat door, and a double-lock mechanism (not that I needed to use this for my cats), and that the door swings both ways. The gate arrived in 2 days (original delivery estimate was 6 days). All parts were in great condition. I hadn't measured before ordering. Fortunately the 29.5" minimum was the width of the bedroom entranceway. I followed the instructions and installation was very easy. I bought this gate for safety/airflow for two 3-4 month old kittens that I was fostering. With the solid door closed, I'd have to open the windows; however I couldn't open them as wide as needed for airflow because the kittens most likely would have clawed/broken the screens and fallen two stories down. Also, rather than the kittens wondering what the noises were behind the solid door, they could see my other cats and I through the gate. After the kittens left to be adopted, it was easy to move/install the gate at my doorless walkin closet, to prevent my elderly cat from going in. When I adopted a senior cat, to give her time to settle in before introducing her to my other cats, I moved the gate back to the bedroom, which was, again, easy to do. After a few weeks, it was time to let her roam. She and my other cats easily went through the cat door that I left open for them. The only parts I set up were the gate and anti-trip ramp. The gate is still very useful. In case I have work done in my house, I can put my cats in that bedroom and know they'll be safe behind the gate. They won't be roaming around in the house getting in the workers' way, or escaping out of the house through doors left open.

this is useless for cats the jump right over it.only good for dogs o kids. dint buy if you have cats.
