[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this for my horse but used it on my German Shepherd and now it is hers. It pulls the dead hair out without irritating her. It gets a lot of hair out. YAY! Now I will have to buy the horse one.

It’s one of the best shedder tools on the market. For those who complain about rusting, WD-40 is your friend. Clean your tool and wipe some WD-40 on it before putting away. That protects it from rust.

This works great for shedding out your horse in the spring - I borrowed a friend's and had to get my own!

This is one of my favorite grooming tools! It gets the work done and it's pretty durable. Overall a great product.

Easily removes winter coat and dirt with efficiency. Leaves coat looking instantly clean and sleek. Especially helpful this cold spring when still too cool to bath.

I’m a fan. My horse is a fan (and he’s a diva). My best friend has a thin-skinned, sensitive-skinned Thoroughbred mare, and she’s a fan too. It pulls up a ton of dirt and is great for deshedding. I like my Strip Hair too, but this design is much easier on my wrists/hands. Big fan!

I bought this for my two Golden Retrievers. It is ineffective at removing hair. No hair came off them. I would take it to the barn and try it on my horse but it is so small it would take all day. Pretty much useless.

Nothing works better than a SleekEZ! I’ve had many different shedding tools and this is by far the best.

My horse is already shedding and this is really great! She’s really sensitive and isn’t bothered by it at all

I borrowed my coworker's to shed my horse's winter coat and loved it so much that I bought my own. It works better than anything else I've found to shed a winter coat. This is what I use on my own horse and what we use at work. I've never had a problem with it and it works amazing!

A rasp works just as well for shedding, BUT once shredded out, this tool is fabulous for grooming a filthy horse right out of pasture. The serrated blade brings all the dirty dandruff right to the surface, and after following with a soft dandy brush you are left with a clean, shiny horse! Note: Always pull the blade along the hair, never across the coat, or you will cut the hairs like a saw. Be careful around the base of the mane and tail, as the serrated blade is fine enough to grab and pull or cut those thicker hairs (and you probably don’t want that).

I purchased my first SleekEZ grooming tool two years ago. Probably like yourself, I was looking for a tool to help my horse loose his winter coat more efficiently and man alive does this tool have good reviews! I was convinced that it would work . . . You can imagine my disappointment now that I have gone through a handful of these, because I was sure that I had to be doing something wrong. At this point I’ve concluded that either (1) the product is bad or (2) my standards are too high and this product is fine. You can be the judge—Here is my assessment: The SleekEZ is a serrated blade glued into a rounded wooden block. The smaller size fit comfortably enough in my hand and allowed for decent maneuvering while grooming. My horse clearly did not enjoy this tool, but it was not so uncomfortable that he felt the need to move away from it (this tool was only used above the knees/hocks). As stated by other reviewers, the blade clogged with hair and dust very quickly requiring constant cleaning to be effective. When clean and new, the SleekEZ was reasonably effective at pulling out loose winter hair. Also as state by other reviewers, the blade rusts incredibly fast, even with no direct exposure to wet hair or water. Presumably this is worse in humid environments. Regardless, given the SleekEZ’s intended use, the blade should hold up to the elements, but it does not. ‼️While the above is frustrating enough, it would only have caused me to drop this rating down to 3 stars without this final, most important concern. The SleekEZ blade wreaks havoc on my horse’s coat. The blade is coarse and cheap and very hard on hair. It may help you be minorly more efficient at getting rid of that winter coat, but at what cost? I noticed my horse’s coat looking duller and damaged while I was using this product. I tried to consider other variables that may have cause this change (illness, blankets, etc.) but this tool is the only one that lines up. I stopped using this tool and his coat condition improved. If you’re main goal is to achieve a beautiful, sleek coat at the end of all your winter-shedding efforts, I would NOT recommend this product.‼️ Attached are photos demonstrating rust on a blade that was very lightly used, kept meticulously clean, and stored inside a very tidy tack locker with damp rid. Below is a record of how my SleekEZs died: - death by rusty blade (technically all, but particularly my first and second purchases) - death by lost blade (third - assuming the glue failed?) - the fourth blade was retired (for destroying my horse’s coat) before I ran into any real issues, but the photos show how it rusted after sitting around clean and unused

I have no idea how I have managed to survive this long without purchasing one of these!
