Because it runs ChromeOS, apps and other programs are handled differently. There are easy ways to use Microsoft Office software like Word and Excel on this Chromebook. The easiest and probably best way to use Office is to use the web-based versions of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for free by going to Office.com in the Chrome browser. They look and feel very similar to the desktop versions and save your work automatically to OneDrive. Google does also have their own free alternatives, such as Google Docs, and Google Sheets that you can use, and it fully supports your Microsoft Office files.
