Durable but Strong Chemical Smell

I recently purchased this crib. I researched and read the reviews. I agree that this was a durable crib, easy to put together. However, one thing that is not mentioned in neither the reviews nor in the description of this product, was the strong emission of the chemical smell from the product. I saw that it was JPMA certified and nontoxic finish used so I thought it would be fine. But, it was too strong for me and my baby to sleep in the same room with the crib. I would not recommend buying this based on the lack of greenguard certification which makes sure that very low levels of emissions are coming from the product. If this is not a concern for you, then it is good for all of its other qualities. I will be taking it down and returning this product as I have been getting a headache from the smell emitted from the crib.

Hi ORW, Thank you for your feedback. We're very sorry to hear about the strong chemical smell. We can assure you that the stain we use in our products is non-toxic and water based. New product can sometimes give off an odor called off gassing, after it has been confined in a box from new. This does not normally last more than a few days, however to help dissipate this odor, we would suggest keeping the room well ventilated until the odor has gone and to wipe the product down with a damp cloth, then dry with a different cloth. If the odor persists, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Perfect Fit!

We received this crib as a gift. My son flips and turns in his sleep. He used to get stuck on the side of his previous bed, now he has all the room to sleep as wild as he pleases and not wake me up frantically crying in the middle of the night.
