Q: Has this product changed? I ordered what’s pictured, but it arrived with “new” printed on the box and no longer says “Glide threader floss” just “threader floss.” It’s also made of cotton like fibers that look like they’ll snag on my wire! Very annoying!

  • A: It’s definitely changed. And changed for the worse. I used the original for years because it’s the only thing that worked around my implants without snagging and shredding. This stuff is a nightmare. It got caught and I had to use tweezers to get it out more than once. And I swear some got stuck and I ended up with soreness until it worked its way out. IMO it is not a safe product.

  • A: No flavor, but don’t believe the stars that’s been given to it. It had higher ratings for the PREVIOUS style of flossing but they have changed it sometime in August 2024. Now the new flossing is completely useless. There are no good reviews since August 20th…therefore, it tack the version onto the previous ratings are MISLEADING! Shame on you Oral B.

    I am a dental hygienist and currently have braces! LET ME TELL YOU THIS!!! DO NOT BUY THIS AT ALL!! The string is horrible, EASILY get STUCK TO YOUR BRACES! They have changed the structure and the type of string they are using, very disappointing! Bring back the old version!

    Worst thing ever

    Was using this for my braces but it got shredded. Not by the brackets but because my teeth were very tight. I have been trying to get the floss out but because it is shredded and in a tight place it has been lodged into my gums causing bleeding, swelling and pain.

    Alriight Oral B...so by now you've seen the hundreds of bad reviews. Are you going to bring the old version back? Please don't reply with the same reply you provided to everyone else. Please just let us know if you're going to bring back the old floss or not. Both of my first two attempts at using this floss resulted in nearly immediately breaking floss.

    Horrible!

    I used the old version for more than 10 years. This product performs terrible and the tip is super painful in the small space between my teeth, gums, and the permanent retainer. I want to see the scientific evidence that my flossing product is dumping more, if any, harmful plastics into my blood compared to condiments, milk, and other beverage bottles, butter, frosting, sour cream, yogurt and pudding tubs, or any other plastic container that our food sits in for weeks or months and in some cases a year. I recommend giving the public a choice between the crappy new product or the one we all prefer. I am will to take all the pulled products off you hands.

    Worst floss ever! The floss actually falls apart as you floss and you will end up with shreds of floss stuck in your teeth. I don’t know why they changed the floss, but they should be fired for letting this get to market like this.

    Horrible

    These were awful. I used them to thread under a permanent retainer. The thread broke off multiple times and left me with uncomfortable pieces stuck between my teeth.

    Bring back the OG

    this new floss becomes stuck in the braces and permanent retainer even when pulled taught as instructed. You then are walking around all day with little micro strings in your mouth. Please bring back the old ones. I know it had to do with the PFSA, but you can formulate it without it. Even my dentist and orthodontist hate this new floss.

    Ruined my permanent retainer

    The new version is horrible. Shreds and gets stuck in my permanent retainer. I kept using it anyway and now it got wedged in the retainer so good it ruined it and I have to go to the ortho to fix it. Just awful! At least the PFAS version stayed in tact. This shreds leaving traces of who knows what behind.

    Rips So Easily

    Easy to thread through teeth but it's extremely stringy and literally rips so easy. The pieces of string get stuck in your teeth or in my case between my retainer and it's a PAIN trying to get it out. Would not recommend if you're going to use between retainers or anything that will require you getting the strings out of a tight spot because it's the worst.

    Floss Shreds Between My Teeth

    Now, I not only have pieces of food between my teeth, I have pieces of floss between my teeth. Horrid product. It keeps sticking between my teeth. Sometimes leaving pieces of floss that I are stuck. Bring the old version back!!!
