Q: Hi. I bought two tubes. Neither were sealed ? Why are the toothpastes containers not sealed ? Should they be ?

submitted by Carolyn - 5 months ago
  • A: Hello Carolyn. Sensodyne Clinical White Enamel Strengthening Toothpaste contains water. It is normal for toothpastes containing water to not have a foil seal because foil is used to minimize discoloring or hardening of the toothpaste prior to being opened for the first time.

Makes inside of my mouth peel

I usually use the regular Sensodyne. But this one made the inside of my mouth peel--had white stringy stuff coming off off of the inside of my lips and cheeks with an hour of brushing my teeth. This has happened with other brands but not Sensodyne. It also messed up my taste buds for a good 4 hours!

    Too much air.

I have been using Sensodyne for several years, as recommended by my dentist. My major complaint is there is a huge air pocket in every tube giving a false sense of how much toothpaste is left. I have not experienced this much air in any other toothpaste that I have ever used. I prefer a gel toothpaste and can never find a gel version at my local retailer.

    Burning mouth syndrome

I have used Sensodyne for decades with great relief of my sensitivity. I’ve stay away from whiteners to avoid having more sensitivity. I thought I’d try Clinical White to see if it worked for whitening. My sensitivity wasn’t a problem but I began having a persistent feeling that I had burned my mouth, 24/7. I finally found so called burning mouth syndrome on the internet and they mention chemical sensitivity as a cause. I stopped the clinical white and within a week my symptoms were almost gone and have stayed gone on my usual Pro-enamel sensodyne.
