Description

Play a ruff riff and rock out with the Woofer hound dog guitar! This electrifying instrument lets your toddler channel their inner Van Halen and experiment with a variety of funky features. Pick your musical mood from 3 different play modes: acoustic, electric, or hound dog. Compose your own song using a full C to C scale of 8 chords that smoothly fade in and out. Push the Music Note button to choose between 20 familiar songs, and then take the Strum button for a spin to play along. Every strum of the strings advances a song by 2 seconds, so keep strumming to keep the song going! You can also press the Doggy button for 9 Peppy Puppy songs. And if you feel like singing, go ahead and grab the lyric booklet! Make any song your own with additional sound effects, courtesy of the Whammy Bone button. Parents will also be happy to know that this dog guitar includes a trusty volume knob. End your rock concert by pressing Woofer’s nose, or he will automatically walk off the stage after 2 minutes of inactivity - now that’s a good doggy!

Q: Is the volume unusually very soft and hard to hear? We've tried turning it up all the way and changing the batteries but it makes no difference. Just trying to figure out if this is normal! Thanks.

submitted by Bri - 9 years ago

  • A: It does indeed get loud! I would do an exchange. We got this for my daughter as a gift when she was 1 and she still loves it and is now 5. I also frequently use it as a gift to others!

submitted byVTHokieStephy - 9 years ago

  • A: Ours is not soft! I would exchange it. This has been a favorite in our house for many years!

submitted byCharlie - 9 years ago

  • A: Hi Bri - As the others have said, the woofer should not be hard to hear. We hope you did take it back to Target for an exchange. This is such a fun toy - we really want your little one to enjoy it for a long time!!

Q: I just bought this for my granddaughter. There is a “strum” button at the base of the strings. Is this button supposed to do anything? Do the strings actually do anything?

Q: Some of the reviews state that the strap is a strangulation hazard? Can you remove the strap?

submitted by AMJ - 2 years ago

  • A: Hi AMJ. The B. Woofer strap has a center section held together by velcro pieces which can be removed. As well, it can serve as a release during play. Please make sure to remove the plastic tabs that are on the velcro portion of the strap before play. The plastic tabs are part of the toys packaging when new. The Battat Team

submitted by Susan - 2 years ago

  • A: Hi Susan. The B. Woofer Guitar still offers the same songbook and songs. It has not been modified in the past 5 months. The Battat Team

Q: Is the strap supposed to be short or is there a way to extend it?

submitted by Smm1234 - 2 years ago

  • A: Hi Smm1234. There are 2 versions of the Woofer, 1 with a longer strap and the other with a non-detachable 8" strap. The shorter strap does not extend. Thank you. The Battat Team

Q: the surface has become softer and sticky on the front. What to do? I have cleaned it carefully

submitted by Lakeside lady - 4 years ago

  • A: Hi Lakeside lady. The Woofer material is not toxic, and the stickiness can be caused by either heat (direct or indirect) or the products being used to clean it. Once the below happens there is no way to reverse it. Thank you. The Battat Team

    Short lifespan.

I have bought 6 of these in the last 4 years because they break so frequently. They just start glitching and I act like I fix it because my kids love it.

    A nice surprise

Well I bought this last week and my 4 year old daughter has not put it down. I did have to put new batteries in it but the packaging was very well placed around the bottom of the dog woofer. Inside was the card with a QR code along with a song book and device compliance sheet. My daughter has mastered BINGO in just a matter of a few hours. And this says something because she doesn't know her alphabet yet. This is a very well built toy and the string option is an option that isn't seen in other toy guitars or instruments. This is probably one of the best musical instruments that I've came along that will remain in the house. Lol. Thank you

Fun with a fragile on/off dial

Fun toy but after a while turning it on makes an incessant clicking/popping noise. Everything still works so it’s not like the batteries are dead, and changing batteries doesn’t fix it. There is just a non-stop clicking noise on top of the other sounds and music it makes. Turns out that is pretty annoying so it stays off now.

    Very entertaining

We’ve been buying this guitar since my special needs son was little, he’s almost 17 years old and still his favorite toy. We get him at least 2 a month since he’s very rough with it, poor yappy dog gets thrown out all over the house 😂. I just hope you guys don’t discontinue it please.

This and the Kitty keyboard are my 17 year old son’s favourite toys. He has autism and we always have both at all times but the last year he has left them outside to get rained on and I have like 6 broken ones currently. The keyboard has been his favourite since he was 3. You can’t stop selling these toys. They are the only two toys he likes. Why aren’t they at target? Please Help me keep getting these!!!!
