Smells terrible and doesn't even work.
This is not the same stuff. It smells terrible and does't actually work anymore. I don't understand how Garnier is still selling this.

Simple Product, Nice Hair.
For someone with short (and arrow-straight hair) and a simple hairstyle, this is a great product. A dime-sized amount easily controls the direction and it doesn't get hard or really sticky. That being said, I only wish they made a larger size, as this runs out quickly when both you and your son are using it almost every day.

Smells really bad, and no longer holds well
I used to really like this product, as it held well and smelled good, kind of tropical. But it no longer has the same hold, and it smells TERRIBLE, like stale tobacco. Certainly not what you want your hair smelling like.

Smells like disgusting cigarettes
I would have to agree with the other reviews that say this stuff smells like cigarettes. It really does. It’s GROSS. I have a wolf cut and wanted just a touch of product sometimes for texture but this isn’t it. 🤮

The best hair product i have found!!
This easily the best product I have ever tried, and I have tried alot. Many other products will leave your hair stiff like a rock, or oily and greasy, but this stuff is perfectly in the middle. It shapes your hair how you want it, and is not too stiff, hard, or crunchy. it looks dry, like you didn't really care about fixing your hair, but it looks styled like out of a magazine!

My hair is fine, wavy, and difficult to manage. I get caught up in the hype of other products, but always come back to this one....been using for over 10 years. It makes my hair feel fuller and softer. It's not sticky crunchy or greasy...acts like a leave in conditioner with a little control.

Best styling product for short hair
I wear my hair pretty short, & have tried dozens of styling products over the years to keep it neat but not flat. Surfer Hair putty is the best I’ve ever used, by far. Easy, durable, economical, & reliable (predictable) results every time, wet or dry.

Bring it back!
This is my favorite hair styling product. I have used this for years. It easily washes out with showering and leaves no residue. The product adds volume to my hair without stickiness and easy to comb! Love it!

Horrible smell
This stuff gives a good, matte styling hold, but it does smell like you rubbed your head in an ash tray. It's gross!

What happened?
I've used surfer hair on and off for years, when I have short hair. I love the stuff! It has just the right hold to not feel sticky yet still look good, plus I can run my hands through my hair, no problem. It calms my hair so I don't get static hair, which is a big deal, especially in winter! My only problem? (The reason I can go to 5 stars) What happened to the scent? It used to have this lovely citrisy smell. This most recent purchase, I was very disappointed because it smelled like tobacco or smoke. It smells like an ashtray!! Is this a mistake? Why ruin a good thing????

Works perfectly!
This product works perfectly! I guess it helps that I naturally have wavy and curly hair, but this really helps hold and sculpt my hair just the way I like! It also smells like the ocean at first but there’s no smell once you put it in your hair.
