Description

The original Moka coffee pot: Moka Express is the original stovetop espresso maker, it provides the experience of the real Italian way of preparing a tasteful coffee, its unique shape and the inimitable gentleman with mustache date back to 1933, when Alfonso Bialetti invented it.

Made in Italy with an ergonomic handle and a patented safety valve which makes it easy to clean. Available in many sizes and suitable for gas, electric and induction (with the Bialetti induction adapter plate)

How to prepare the coffee: fill the boiler up to the safety valve, fill it up with ground coffee without pressing, close the Moka pot and place it on the stovetop, as soon as Moka Express starts to gurgle, turn the fire off and coffee will be ready
One size for each need: Moka Express sizes are measured in Espresso Cups, coffee can be enjoyed in Espresso Cups or in larger containers

Cleaning instructions: The Bialetti Moka Express must only be rinsed with clean water after use, with no detergents, the product is not to be washed with a dishwasher as it will be irremediably damaged and the taste of coffee altered

Q: 1st attempt out of the box and the handle started on fire. The base had water, the flame wasn't high enough to meet the edges. I'm saddened that this little pot died so tragically! I'll try again with another. Anyone else experience this?

Please make sure you place the whole base on the stove, over a medium flame (heat source) and make sure the handle is pointed away for the flame, or to the side of the burner. please contact our customer service department with your experience. 800-421-6290

  • A: I think the key is to place the base of the moka pot off the center of the burner rather than in the center of the burner. And also, place turn the handle to the outermost aspect of the burner top so it doesn't melt or get too hot.

    Bialetti is the standard by which all other moka pots are compared

    There are many moka pots but the Bialetti Express made in Italy is the champion that stands above the rest. The charm of using a moka pot is that it takes time which becomes a ritual. There is a bit of a learning curve though the Bialetti rewards effort and patience.

    It's a moka pot. It makes coffee!

    Picked my moka pot up yesterday. Nice product. Not sure what some others are complaining about regarding appearance of the internals... It looks like a cast part, no reason to machine and make the internal parts look nice, it's not a quality control thing. The only thing I would "improve" is the rubber gasket. It'll be a bit smelly for the first few runs, could be upgraded to high temp/food grade silicone, and maybe a wooden handle for those who don't know how to control their stove heat...:) but, meh... it's a classic, don't fix it if it aint broke.

    Love Moka

    I love my new Moka pot. I’ve been trying to remove plastic from the home and this was an inexpensive upgrade from a traditional coffee maker. Coffee/espresso tastes so much better. I watched a few videos on how to properly care for the pot and make a great espresso.

    Quality not what I expected

    The quality of these seems to have gone down significantly. Seems to just have a metal coating - there were pieces of metal flakes inside when I was first trying to use it. I wasn’t expecting it to include a non-metal sealing ring - it smelled horrible when heating the water. I will be returning it unfortunately as it leaked a lot from the threading in the middle. I’ve used this type of coffee make many times and was shocked by how poorly this was made for the $60 price tag.

    Received Defective Moka Pot and My Return Was Denied!

    I ordered the Bialetti 6-cup Moka pot from Target.com. When I received it on June 26th, I was shocked to find that the inside of the bottom chamber was very roughly machined and several pieces of metal shavings were inside (see attached photo). This is not the high quality that I expected. I immediately contacted Target for a return label and shipped it back to Target in their same shipping box with their provided return label via UPS on the very same day! According to the tracking number, they received my return on June 30th. However, today, July 4th, I got an email telling me that my "return has been denied" and they are refusing to refund my total payment of $42.39! Why? It even states "free and easy returns" on the Target moka pot product page. So now I don't have a moka pot, and I am out $42.39. I will never buy from Target.com again!

    Great blend using Cafe Bustelo. Brews quickly and tastes like espresso. Mine leaked the first few times - YouTube research revealed that really turning it tightly and adding a little vegetable oil fixed that problem. I would buy another one for a back up at our camper..

    We love our moka pot!

    We love our Moka pot! We bought this one 6 years ago now and it’s still holding up strong. We’ve had 3 other coffee makers (pour over, French press, etc) over this same time period that have since broken but not this Moka pot! We’ve been using it every day now for the last 2 years because it’s the most convenient way to make coffee in the morning. And it tastes great!

    Quality issue

    Bought this mid December 2024. After 3 months the silicone ring/gasket which is supposed to withstand 500 degress basically began to melt. The product has a two year warranty supposedly. Lets see how Bialetti handles the issue.

    You dont boil this

    So many people do not do their research on how to use a Moka Pot. Comments saying “it’s dangerous” clearly didn’t follow the instructions. You do not boil the pot. It shouldn’t go any higher than medium heat but rather medium to low heat is best. If you boil this pot, you not only get sputtering than is dangerous but you burn the coffee. This will make you the best tasting strong coffee if you are patient, practice using it and test out your grind size when grinding fresh beans.

    Waste of money

    We bought this at the end of 2023 for $49.99. We only used it a handful of times and took great care of it when we did. We were sure to wipe up any access water after cleaning, and let it air dry 100% prior to assembling again. I tried to use it end of 2024 and found mold coated on the inside. Upsetting since we always went out of our way to care for it.

    Good coffee but dangerous design

    First of all, this makes an amazing cup of coffee! At first I tried to use an espresso grind and it didn’t work out. I’ve been using my regular Dunkin’ coffee ever since and it’s been amazing. I fill my mug halfway with steamed oat milk and top it off with this and a little brown sugar syrup. No more Starbucks for me! BUT the downside to this product is that when I first tried to use it, several pieces of metal/aluminum were found floating around in the water as I filled it up. It is so important to brew and dump 3-4 times before using it for the first time! Even though I haven’t found any more metal, I’m still concerned about this and I’m considering purchasing a different product. This should definitely be addressed by the manufacturer. I expected more from such a highly respected brand.

    Received a used item

    Ordered this as a Christmas gift and received a used item in a damaged box. It has fingerprints and the wrap around the coffee pot was removed. Very disappointing. I hate making returns during the holidays and the app doesn’t let me return via Drive-Up either.
