Summary of reviews
This brush is praised for its versatility and soft, dense bristles, making it suitable for various makeup applications, including foundation, concealer, and contouring. Many guests appreciate its ability to blend products smoothly, especially in tight areas like under the eyes and around the nose. However, some guests have experienced issues with shedding and streaking, particularly when used for foundation. Overall, it is considered a great value for its price and functionality.

Versatile

I bought this to use for contouring with the putty bronzers, but found it not appropriate because the putty bronzer blends away too easily with a brush. Instead, I apply with a concealer brush and blend by dabbing with a mini makeup sponge. This brush, however, is soft yet firm and fairly dense. With light pressure the pointed tip of the brush is maintained; with heavier pressure the pointed tip sinks in and rest of the bristles come into contact with the skin. I can see this brush being very versatile, I just don’t have a use for it now as I use very minimal makeup.

I don't like using this for my foundation. I feel like it's too small. However, I love using it for concealer.

Not a fan. Bristles are stiff even after washing and doesn't do well with my foundation or concealer.

Per usual, I was not disappointed with an e.l.f. brush. Honestly I'd prefer to use my fingers, because it's just easier for me to work with.

The greatest thing about makeup brushes is that they can be used for whatever you want. For example, this one is marketed as a foundation brush but I’ve used it for both contour and highlighter (with two different brushes, for obvious reasons lmao). The bristles are soft, dense, and tapered, which makes it easy to get into the hollows of the cheeks for precision and on the tops of the cheekbones. I’ve never used this for foundation so I can’t attest to how it would perform in that situation but for highlighter and contour, it’s a winner!

This brush is easy to use and blends foundation well. However, don't expect to use it for a long time. After a few months the hairs started falling out and got worse and worse.

Fall apart and not Soft

Bought this quite a while ago and have given it a lot of time for it to convince me. I've used elf eyeshadow, face and blush brushes before and they're soft and great to use. This is terrible. Bristles fall apart as you use it, when you wash it, it holds a lot of foundation in the bristles which can't be washed out properly unless you basically pull bristles out.. Moreover, it's not soft on your face at all. Was very disappointed by this brush. Paddle shaped brushes and the densely packed short bristled brushes work better, though I haven't tried elf's brushes of this type before, and I'm not sure that I'm willing to.

Everytime I tried to use this brush the bristles felt like needles on my face. I tried flat and in 9ne direction but they still pricked my face. Bummer

I bought this today, used it once, and threw it in the garbage. Not only was my foundation streaky, but bristles kept coming out and sticking to my face. I thought it was just a few loose ones, but then I tried lightly pinching them to see if any more fell out. I ended up with a PILE on my desk. I'm not exaggerating, I would pinch the brush (very lightly, I wasn't yanking them out) and CLUMPS of bristles kept coming out into my hand. I get that these are cheap and you shouldn't expect the best quality, but this was ridiculous and made the brush useless.
LOVE IT!

I bought this brush because I was fairly new to makeup and every makeup tutorial I watched had people using foundation brushes, so I wanted one too of course! I bought this brush and immediately loved it. The bristles were soft and they left even coverage without absorbing much product.

It's very soft and blends everything nicely. I wash it only with soap everyday during me bath time and it restore it back to all its glory! I use it everyday, the brush and wand came apart for average 6 months, and I'll just throw it away and buy another new one, because the price won't let me feel guilty.
Like the way it applies but the brush and wand...

I bought this a while ago at Walmart, it's so soft and blends everything so nicely. The only thing is I find I have to wash it slightly more often than my other foundation brush but I do that with a mixture of olive oil and dish soap and it restore it back to all its glory! Definitely reccomend

I love foundation brushes like these but usually its hard to find one that doesn't shed because of the pine-cone shape. So far, I haven't seen any shedding, only great blending. I use it for foundation, as well as concealer with a lighter had for better blending. You could probably even use this for contouring. Can't go wrong with this one!
