Solid and very pretty
I am quite happy with this wine rack. All the main elements actually seem to be made of real, solid wood and have a lovely finish (very dark espresso brown--darker than I expected but that's fine as I wanted black anyway). It was pretty easy to assemble alone and the individual elements were packaged in a way that made sense with the steps, and once put together correctly it is so sturdy. Seriously, unlike many other pieces of furniture that require assembly at home this thing doesn't sway at all when nudged. My one misgiving is that it's not as deep as I would have hoped--the necks of regular wine bottles stick out more than an inch from the edge of the shelves--but I can live with that. Otherwise, it's a beautiful piece of furniture that brings a lot of class to a dining/living space.

Really nice wine rack
I love this wine rack! I bought it to go in a space in my kitchen that was mostly wasted space, just a counter top with no shelves for storage (pic #1). I assembled it in about half an hour, and used a drop of wood glue in the recesses for the dowel pieces, both in the frame and on the shelves. It fit nicely in the space provided (pic #2). It seems very sturdy and holds quite a bit of stuff (pic #3). That is soda on the bottom shelf, wine above that, spirits and liqueurs along with my french press above the wine, and the upper shelf for the blender and hot water pot. A nice plant for the top completes the picture (#4). The only reasons I gave it four instead of five stars were these: 1. The finish is OK but isn't as good as it could be. 2. There was a large label covering one end of the glass rack that I had to tear off, and remove the paper with water and the glue with goo gone. What a pain! 3. The spaces to hang the wine glasses are quite wide and my glasses must be positioned exactly in the center of these spaces to avoid falling. I could probably shove soda straws on either side of the glass bottoms to hold them in place so that I don't accidentally knock them down. All this considered, I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend it.
