Best of the Best
I purchased this grill a couple years ago due to the high ratings from Consumer Reports. This is by far the best Charcoal Grill I have owned. Simple Assembly, and my guests are impressed with what I can grill with it.

Very Impressed
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Brought home my new Dyna-Glo DGN486SNC-D grill last night after quite a bit of research. I have an outdoor kitchen with a bay in a porcelain tile countertop for the grill to sit in. I built the kitchen around my current grill that after 13 years is time to replace, Seems like no manufacturers publish the grill box dimensions for this application (remove cart and shelves) so upfront I will post them. Box is 28" wide (left to right) x 19 1/2 " Deep (front to back) (w / hinges) X 11 " from bottom to cooking surface to the bottom of the box. If you want to keep the ash pan add about 1 1/2 " to this and cut legs off there. The above width does not include space for the vent handles. I will remove them also as they need at least six additional inches on each side and I will position the easy sliding vent by hand. I must say this is a very well thought out and detailed grill and pretty heavy duty especially for the price. Assembly was easy with no missing or damaged parts. I spent about 2 hours on unpacking, assembly and clean up. One hole needed some paint removed to allow the shoulder bolt to pass through for the side vent but was easily taken care of with a round file. All of the many other holes were well clearance and most had weld nuts in place to avoid having to hold a loose nut with a wrench. The thin wrench supplied just to tighten the castors did not work as there were weldments in the way and not enough clearance but I was able to get it pretty tight by hand and it should be fine. The hex bolts supplied have a Phillips head slot and do not fit any metric or standard socket I have so just use the screw driver. The Grill, setting on the square and rectangular tubing cart is very ridged and sturdy. It will be a shame to cut it off and discard it. Might find a use for it if I can attach the heavy duty shelves I will also be removing. The large coal tray is sturdy and made the way all of them should be, from heavy wire. It adjusts smoothly up and down from about 1" below the cooking grates to the bottom of the box with minimal offset from front to back in the sweep. It has a three piece porcelain grate that slides easily in it's track and is recessed to flush with the top edge of the box to keep grease run off inside the box. I think the stores selling this grill should stock one assembled for a live look by customers as again it is very well done with details on almost everything not seen on other grill companies products. A short compare would sell this one every time. The real test for charcoal grills is how well you can control the heat. If it can snuff the coals out when you shut it down it has a good seal and better control. I have some ribs rubbed and standing now and will test this when I get them cooked in about three hours. If it won't snuff them I will come back and post what I did to get it to. Gotta Have that Feature. HAPPY GRILLING

Dyna-glo char grill
The grill is not bad but it is not heavy duty as described. It will probably not last too long.

Excellent Purchase
I found this grill at the Home Depot website. It took only one hour to assemble. Instructions included details how to "season" the grill. With my first use, I was able to prepare an entire dinner for four within a half-hour after the briquettes were ready. The extra thick steaks took 15 minutes per side. It was easy to control the heat for everything to cook perfectly. I bought a cover for storage when not in use.

Grilled happily all summer long!
I did plenty of online research to find the best charcoal grill, and then purchased this one in May to be ready for our summer of grilling and we've been very happy. The clear instructions made assembly easy, took less than 2 hours but best with 2 people. The grill allows several ways to adjust the cook surfaces and the air flow. The side trays are very handy for placing cooking utensils and plates, and the rack at the bottom is great for holding charcoal and a starter. We bought a generic grill cover to protect from water and tree leaves, and the grill still looks like new. (Without a cover, during a major rainstorm, water entered the chimney and left water in the bottom tray.) Highly recommended.

Married 20 yrs. He finally grills!
So excited to have this grill. Hubby took an interest in smoking, so we wanted a good grill for him to use. Made BBQ ribs first time, and they were delicious. love the charcoal lever to control heat and being able to add charcoal or wood with ease makes this a great combo for us! And he's working on next recipe! Thank you!

Meet expectation
I bought the grill just a week ago, tried it ones. Actually it cooks well. Comparing to my last one, it has pretty thin sides so I think it will not lasts so long as old one and the cooking surface is smoller then the regular one. But as I said it cooks great and meets all my other expectation.

Great grill
I bought this grill 2 weeks ago and weather final broke , allowing me to use this grill. The first time I cooked were hamburgers and the turned out perfect, much better tasting then my propane grill.I just finished cooking some ribs using the indirect method at 250 degrees , took 5 hours and turned out great.Worked better than I expected and easy to use with the height adjusters for temperature control.
