The chest came and I love it. It was pretty easy to put together by myself. My husband and son did hold the lid in place while I screwed it on. It seems very sturdy. I am a little disappointed though. I ordered the color Aged Brown. I accepted it to be a very neutral medium brown but it is a bit darker than I expected and has a very yellow under tone that makes it look dated. It’s not bad in low light but in the sunlight it looks totally different. I am considering adding a gel stain to mute some of the yellow but then the piece would be a lot darker than the medium brown I wanted. I may just try your resell it and get something different.

Great style, but scratches and dents very easily.
Definitely only buy this on sale. It looked great and we needed somewhere to keep our shoes safe while we train a new dog but it was scratched and dented almost immediately from normal use. Target price matched when it went on better sale a few days after purchase, which was great.

Nice but smelly
This piece is solid and was easy to put together. It would get 5 stars except the odor from the stain and varnish (I think) is SO STRONG! As soon as I opened the box I could smell it and 6 days later it is still giving me a headache. I was very pleased with the price because everywhere else was at least $100 More.

I was hesitant at first due to some of the posted reviews. Great sale price and worth the risk. I googled the trunk and looked at it on various websites to get a better look at it. The trunk arrived in perfect condition and packed extremely well. I live in Northern Ca and trunk was shipped from a local in Oregon, it arrived very quickly a good week or so before the estimated delivery date via Fed Ex. Box was left at my door and due to a slight sprinkle the Fed Ex driver was rushing to cover with plastic to protect the pkg. A+ to goes to Fed Ex for the thoughtful service. Trunk was very easily put together I think it took longer getting it out of the packaging. lol. The stain is more like a paint stain the color of dark oak or a dark tobacco. The finish is extremely smooth and very well done. No damage to finish etc. All in all a beautiful trunk. I especially love the slow close hinges. The back panel of trunk has ventilation which is difficult to see in pics, six slits about a 1/4 inch thickness about four inches long in three sets of two for each of the divided sections I for my purposed sealed vents with some fabric tape on the inside to keep spiders etc out. I've received many unsolicited compliments. Trunk is worth every penny at full price. Sturdy solid easily moved. Trunk looks heavier that it actually is.
