Q: does this stick to a leather phone case?

A: PopSockets bases are engineered to be super sticky and most compatible with smooth, flat surfaces. PopSockets bases will not stick as well to silicone, highly textured, as many soft cases on the market. They also will not adhere as well to iPhone 11 and up models or the Samsung Z3 flip phone models without a suitable case. Not recommended to stick to leather or fabric/textile cases. Our super sticky gel may damage leather cases when trying to reposition or remove the base. The gel does not stick "as well" with naked iPhones. While it does stick adequately to a naked base model (and sometimes to Pro/Pro Max depending on circumstances), it will not stick "as well" as if you used a suitable case.

BLACK - NOT gray (as pictured)
The picture is deceiving. The pop socket in the picture looks like a smokey gray color. But it’s not - it’s actually black in reality. I had to look back at the title because I thought Target sent me the wrong item, but instead it’s just misrepresented by the picture on this item. Don’t purchase if you’re trying to avoid black (like we were.)

Worked OK for a few days, but then the adhesive failed, and the PopSocket fell off my phone, dropping the phone to the ground. I heard they recently changed the adhesive formula, so maybe that's it? Anyway, I like the comfort of the grip being soft, but with an unreliable adhesive, I can't recommend this since attaching the grip to the phone is the #1 most important priority for this to even be usable. I tried switching to another ring grip brand, and its adhesive is already lasting longer (over a week now). I'd suggest to PopSocket to put more resources into a reliable adhesive.

Colors not as photographed
I anticipated pink and purple hues but what I recieved was more lime and tangerine. This was my first top swap and I needed to use two different hand tools to remove a mini-insert from my base to make way for this replacement.

Fits well. Love the car vent holder so I need a popsocket for that. They last a long time. I can’t live without it. This design is simple. I usually customize mine but I needed one quickly this time. I’m always happy with my pop sockets!

FELL OFF
Ordered 5 to give out. Applied one to my phone case and it fell off within 1 week! I've been using them for years and never had this happen. I cleaned everything and tried to reapply it without success. I tried Gorilla glue without success. I went online and ordered volport 3MSticky Adhesive, applied one last evening and so far, so good. We shall see! What happened to your adhesive?

Height of grasp pad
My fingers are restricted from grasping the PopSocket comfortably. It needs to have one more level of opening to allow fingers to fit into the fully.

Some problems
I originally loved my popsockets and I still do! However with the new gel, it makes it incredibly hard to remove and reposition. Before I had no problems removing, re-sticking, and repositioning, but now I can't do that easily. There is a ton of residue that gets left behind and the gel gets messed up I can't restick it. This has happened a few times and it's very frustrating

Not worth the extra money
I had the plastic all block pop socket but my puppy chewed it up so I needed to replace. I got the aluminum one this time in hopes it could take a beating if the puppy gets it however, it feels exactly like the plastic one but is $7 more. Since they are all in locked cases at target I didn’t realize this until I made the swap.
