Good, dried, chewy apple slices
I'm surprised by all the bad reviews, so I had to write one myself! I've been buying these for a while now and I really like these apples... Dried and chewy, NOT crispy. I like the crispy ones fine, but I like dried, chewy apples, too. It would be a 5 star review if every batch was consistent, but its important to note that even fresh apples in the same bushel aren't all the same in taste and texture.

I love the Bare dried apples, so in doing my online shopping I thought I’d save a few cents and threw these in my cart as a generic replacement. They are NOT created equal. At first taste I thought maybe I just got a bad batch, but they’re so soggy that I worried these weren’t completely dry & I was risking mold exposure or something. Finally read the reviews to see that they’re just made soggy. No crisp whatsoever. Again, they don’t even seem appropriately dried. So disappointing. 2 stars because they’re still technically edible. But I will never buy these again. Ever.

Honest review of consistency
I give it three stars for nutrition. I guess it's better for my purposes of lowering LDL than freeze dried. That's where it stops. The consistency is not pleasant. You know Otzi, the 5,000 year old Ice man they dug up out of a melting glacier? These remind me of his skin. The look, the chew, it's spot on Otzi skin. Enough to make me gag. I tried cutting up in pieces and adding nuts, that helped.

Love these apples but there are always a few pieces that are inedible due to hard pieces of core, seeds, or thick skin. I understand this can happen occasionally, but we’re talking every bag. For the price this is really disappointing.

Don't let the negative comments give you a jump scare
I think they’re great and my toddler loves them. They don’t claim to be crispy, they are a chewy dried fruit. I recognize there is a warning label on the back about acrylamide - did some research on that and it is not something that is added to the food. It shows up naturally in certain foods when they are heated/cooked at higher temperatures (also occurs in potatoes, coffee, and baked goods/processed foods). While it is concerning, it’s another reason why whole foods are better than any processed foods, even ones that are organic and seemingly harmless. I think we will continue to enjoy the dried apples in moderation :)

Strange warning on back
I usually love these kinds of snacks, but this had a weird warning in the back that said something about the snack having ingredients that are know. To cause cancer in the state of California?! It was enough to freak me out so I tossed them in the trash. I wish I had known before purchasing!

Do NOT BUY. There is a warning label that says consuming this product can has chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects and other reproductive harm. The “organic” is part of the name not anything to do with health. This should be illegal. Will not be eating what a waste of $5.
