Extremely versatile pan. Have used this not only as a wok, but it's a great braiser, deep fryer, and saute pan. Nice deep sides, saves my stove top and oven from splatters. The stainless steel tray fits perfect on the pan, and is a great way to drain deep fried foods, especially donuts, and appetizers. We use this for everyday as well as on special occasions. Terrific purchase.

This wok is great. The cast iron hold temperature very well whick makes it great for any cooking style even frying. The rack hold fried foods to drip and not become soggy before serving. The enamel coating makes it easy to use and maintain. There is no seasoning required and you can use soap to clean it. The matte texture allows oil to get under food to provide even browning, great sears and easy release. The tight fitting lid holds in moisture giving perfect textured foods. I like this larger size as opposed to the perfect pan.

It can seer, braise and steam. Huge vessel for serving many. Enameled black inside and out, it evenly heats and cleans fairly easily.

This is a great pot that I use for both stir fry and deep frying. I like using it for deep frying because the cast iron stays hot once it comes up to temperature. It comes with a rack so that I can move the food that is done, but it will stay hot.

All the great features, just sized up to handle volume when you need it.The construction and thoughtfulness in Staub woks is unquestioned. The wide sloping sides where you can posit some ingredients while you cook others is quintessential. The lid is a must have, it allows the few minutes of steaming that gets vegetables crisp tender, and the long minutes of simmering that gets meats braised through. The stainless steel draining rack makes blanching and deep frying so much easier. Finally, the two handles on either side, and the beautiful enamel finish, even this clean matte black, makes it convenient to bring right to the table for everyone to share. Well done!

I have been using the 4.5 qt wok from staub for a long time and still love it. there were times when I wished for more "room" in the pan to space my food out more. This was a dream come true! tis big but not too big, it is great fro both stir fry and deep frying. I will still use the 4.5 during the week but this will get plenty of use too!

This matte black wok can do it all! I can saute, steam, or fry in it! It is the perfect pan for most jobs in the kitchen. It heats well on all sides, not just the bottom!

This wok is such a great size and I use it for so many things beyond stir fry. Stir fry is the obvious but the size and shape of this pan is great for taco meat, steaming veggies, sauteing and even deep frying (I just made crispy chicken nuggets using this as my fryer). Like all Staub one of the best features is the matte black interior coating that provides a surface that is superior for browning and easy clean up and doesn't need to be seasoned like untreated cast iron.

It is the perfect wok because cast iron can get smoking hot, essential when making a stir fry. The sides are curved and tall so it's simple to push food away from the center during the cooking process. The enameled interior browns perfectly but also releases very similar to non stick. Unlike untreated cast iron, it does not have to be seasoned. It is also awesome for frying, whether its shrimp, small pieces of chicken or doughnuts. The handle grill on top gives you the perfect spot to place freshly cooked items while you finish cooking everything.

This pan/wok can do so much, not just rice and veggies. Place shrimp or scallops on the grill while cooking your rice or pasta or sear or brown meats in this pan. I have also steamed mussels in this pan in a wine and garlic sauce or spaghetti and meat sauce. Endless possibilities! Glass lid so you can monitor your food.

Perfect wok! Heats quickly and stays hot during the frying process without cooling down when new items are added. Creates a wonderful fondant on the bottom to help make a rich sauce at the end. Meat gets evenly browned and veggies get crispy. Also can be used as a deep fryer for doughnuts, breaded chicken and pork pieces or wontons.

I use this for many things, besides it is a great Wok. It's large enough to cook for a family of four and easy to clean.

I make stir-frys and ramen dishes on the regular and use this pan for those dishes and others. It is particulary suited to stir-frys due to the cast iron and the shape of the pan. The bottom conducts the heat and the stream rises up the sides, so when you are stir-frying, you are moving the food constantly around the pan, from the bottom to the sides. Food cooks quickly and evenly. This pan is versatile and can be used for other dishes as well; only limited by your own imagination.

This wok is a perfect multi- purpose pan. Great for frying, sauteing, and steaming with the glass lid, while keeping an eye on contents.

This wok style dutch oven does not need to be seasoned. The matte interior aid in a quick release of food and as you use this pot is will season on its own. the cooking rack is perfect for holding prepared food. I have used this pan on the open gas grill, works really works well. Excellent for stir frying!

A Staub 6qt. wok are perfect size pan for larger amount cooking. It is so versatile, used as a Asian style cooking wok, a stir fry pan to cook meat, mixed vegetables and even fried rice. The fact that it has flatter bottom for maximize heat contact for all stove top surfaces. Requires no seasoning cast iron pot, black matte enamel inside and cooking surface creates a culinary advantage.

I was torn between this 6 qt wok and the 4.5 quart wok. I'm glad I decided on this one. The extra space is great. It's much more versatile than a wok. You can fry, braise, saute... The glass lis is nice to see what's going on inside and also allows the entire piece to be lighter than if it were a cast iron lid. Great pot for family meals.

I purchased this to use as a wok but I find myself using it for everything. I fry french fries in it, pan fry burgers and steaks and have used it for fish stew. It does everything I love the black matte finish - creates a perfect cooking surface. It actually sits on my stove day in and day out, that's how much we use it.
