Q: How often does it need to be seasoned?
A: Seasoning can be done whenever you want to season. Just be sure and cook with oil and after each cleaning process you wipe down with oil before storing away.

Q: Will I need to season this before I use it for the first time?
A: Lodge Cast Iron comes pre-seasoned, this means we have done the first layer for you. There is no need to season in the oven. Since seasoning is an ongoing process, you will need to rub the cookware with cooking oil before and after each use to help build up additional seasoning layers. Since the pan is new, I would wash with hot water, clean with a nylon bristle brush or non-scratch pad, rinse, hand-dry immediately, and rub the surface with cooking oil. Now the pan is ready to be used

A: Lodge Cookware is safe for use on various heat sources, including induction. Simply handle with care on the stovetop — do not slide, and always remove from the stovetop after cooking.
