Description
If you're looking to spice up your game night, then look no further than this board game! We've got just the right party game in mind. What color comes to your mind when we say “apple”? Hues and Cues is a vibrant game of colorful communication with colored squares all over, where players must make connections to a specific color with word clues. With only one and two-word cues, everyone must try and get others to guess one specific hue from the 480 colored squares on the board using markers. In this party game, the closer the guesses are to the target, the more points you earn. The one with the most points after several rounds wins. And since everyone understands and imagines colors differently, this party game tends to get super interesting as the players are challenged at every move. So don't miss out on all the fun during game night with this family board game.

Q: Can a color blind person play this game? Just wondering.
submitted by Kelly - 1 year ago
A: Yes they can. It’s about matching color perception and not the actual colors. I know many color deficient people who play and excel at the game!
submitted byNicole - 1 year agoA: I am colorblind. I will let you know after I find a group to play with with. But, I feel like this is a definite yes. I am really excited about this game and arguing with my friends about colors.

Hard to come up with descriptor words
Quality of the game is great, but you’ll probably run out of ways to describe colors after a few rounds. You might have to make your own rules to make it more enjoyable.

So much fun!
The best part of this game is hearing the way other people's brains relate the things around them to other parts. It's a fascinating view into the minds of others, via colors. I love it.

Definitely recommend!
Took us a little while to get the hang of it but once we figured it out, it was super fun! Wide range of ages and abilities all had a great time playing. Several people griped about not having ALL the colors like no whites, creams, blacks, grays, etc. Fun, different, and a really cool game to spark conversations and silly debates. Definitely recommend!

Wouldn't buy again.
It wasn’t as fun as I hoped. Hard to describe colors in a way that everyone agreed makes clear sense. The rules are easy to follow, but it’s not one of those fun style games that leaves you laughing/joyful.

Fun game
Very fun game that is easy to learn and play with your friends. The only note I would have is that some of the colors on the cards are not a perfect match to the ones listed on the main playing board. Other than that, it's a great game. I would definitely purchase an update if all of the colors are matched perfectly from cards to the board.

Great for artsy types
I am an avid gamer, but my children are not. They are less analytical. This is a quiet game, that focuses on descriptive vocabulary. My children and I really enjoyed it, and people who are more artsy, less numerical, will really enjoy it. I really enjoyed it because my non-analytical kids enjoyed it with me, which is not the case with number focused games. It’s not a party game, but a really enjoyable quiet game. I was apprehensive at first (when my daughter selected it), but I am gushing over it now as my non-game kids really enjoyed it (I did too, but I almost always love games). It’s also nice to use clues that allow you to reminisce in shared characters and experiences, and getting creative with clue giving. We had so much fun that we lost track of rounds and played first person to 50. It was that much fun!

Eye opening game
I thought this game not having high hopes because of how we see color differently. But is definitely a fun game to play. It's really eye-opening to see how other people see color

Colors don't match
This is a fun game and our family (ages 8+) has all enjoyed playing it, but many of the colors on the cards do NOT match the board. The cue giver has to look at the board before giving a clue so that it’s not so far off base. Really bad print job.

Fun game for all.
We bought this game for my daughter for Christmas and we were so surprised at how much fun we had for the first time we played it. My other daughter who normally will never drink game night because she doesn't like all the rules and strategy aspect of it enjoyed it. It's one of those games that you put away and think I can't wait to play that again.

Fun game but fragile board.
I think the game is super fun and can be customized depending on who’s playing it (we tried adding our own rules like it had to be holiday-themed, or Disney themed, etc). I took one star off because this is one of the most fragile game boards I’ve ever used. Because of the weird folds the top part of the board separates SO easily. The first time I took it out of the box, one of the purple corners was starting to peel back. After 3 times taking it out of the box I can see where the heavy cardboard is starting to pull away. I’m definitely not being rough with it so that’s a bit disappointing.

Great game
Love this game for any group (young, old, mixed interests) The way it is played makes it customized to the crowd. I especially love that the playing prices are cones just like we see color with cones.

Fun and easy game to play
This is an easy game to understand and explain. Learning it is very quick. It is fun for all ages. It is a great party game or a game to play with family. It says for ages 8+ but our younger kids also play it and have a blast. You can play a full game or just play for fun and make it shorter. Either way it everyone should have a fun time.
