It is important to use denture adhesives as directed to prevent excessive and prolonged zinc intake reported to be associated with serious health problems, so if you are using other products containing zinc, it may be best to consult a doctor first. We're confident that we can help you remove that excess residue with ease, Jayne! As you may know, as Fixodent absorbs excess water, the hold will loosen. If you haven't already, rinse your mouth with water-- as hot as is comfortable. After that, gently brush your gums with a soft-bristled toothbrush and regular toothpaste. If you still see residue, you may want to gently rub away the remaining adhesive with a damp cloth or gauze and a small amount of cooking oil or rinse your mouth with mouthwash.
