Q: How long can an unopened and uncooked package of Impossible Plant-Based Burger Ground be left unrefrigerated?

A: Thanks for your question, Holiday! Our product should always be kept at a refrigerated temperature. When purchased thawed, your package of Impossible Burger should have a sticker with a “best by” date. For best freshness, you should prepare and eat the entirety of the package before this date. When frozen, Impossible Burger should be consumed within 10 days of thawing and always prior to the "use by" date printed on the packaging.

Q: does the amount shrink when cooked?

A: You’ll be pleasantly surprised that Impossible shrinks less than conventional ground beef. If you’re used to making burgers, tacos, or spaghetti and needing to drain moisture or fat out of the pan, you’ll quickly notice that it's not necessary—the juiciness stays in until you take your first bite. This means that you should be able to use just one 12oz. (¾ pound) package in any recipe that calls for 16oz. (1lb) ground beef and get approximately the same yield you’re used to.

A: Hi Alice, a serving of the Impossible Burger contains 9g of carbohydrates, including 3g of dietary fiber and less than 1g of sugar. Kind of tasted like the meat in canned chili. The flavor is okay on it's own, but I think I'll only use it in stuff that has a sauce or soups and stews. Be sure you use oil when frying it, as there is no fat to keep it from sticking. I gave it a 3 bc it's limited (IMO) as far as uses I'd consider.

It is way softer than ground beef and smells horrible when you first open it. It doesn’t taste terrible but the texture is very soft. I honestly feel like it doesn’t fill me up as much as regular ground beef. This is a GREAT alternative for someone who cuts out meat in their diet. It cooks great and is great for tacos or spaghetti or anything you’d use real beef for! I just don’t like the texture, I prefer real beef! I was very shocked by how well it cooked!

The cooking time is a lot faster than regular meat. I made chili, and found that it crumbled and was a bit mushier than traditional meat chili. In spite of being a little soft, it tasted great and my bf also enjoyed it.

Just like real meat, the seasoning that you use makes all the difference. I personally used some seasoning salt and some spicy mayo and it was delicious. The one thing I will say to be careful of is that if you eat the whole package in one sitting, it will create quite the upset stomach.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The packaging is nice and compact, leaving it small and easy to put in the freezer taking up next to no space. The ingredients are just okay. It’s plant based, so it’s great if you want to avoid eating meat from an animal, but there are still so many chemicals pumped into the meat that makes it not much healthier or better for you. The smell upon opening it made my stomach turn. It smells like canned dog food and I couldn’t get past it. Texture of it when I attempted to mold it and cook with it, was like grainy and very dense.

Ingredients – soy protein, coconut and sunflower oils, heme (for meat-like flavor and color), gluten-free and fully plant-based. Texture – raw it looks just like real ground beef, and after cooking it browns well and stays juicy. Cooking – ready in 5–7 minutes in a pan, just like regular ground meat. Great for tacos, sauces, burgers. Taste – rich, umami flavor with a slightly smoky note. Not exactly like beef, but very tasty and satisfying.

Smelled AWFUL. Opened this to use in some stuffed bell peppers and this stuff smelled rancid. It wasn’t set to expire until 3 more days so I’m not sure what was wrong with it but never again
