Learning Resources Mental Blox Junior Early Logic Game, Ages 4+

I love this! They make another version for older kids and my 3 year old was feeling left out. I bought this. It is so cute, and has cards with easy to more difficult set ups. My older kid even played with this one. It’s now a favorite in our home.

We really like the Mental Blox game for when our extended family gets together with the kids, so this was great for our little one. Durable, bright colors, and easy to follow instructions for kids that are not at a reading level yet. It's also nice to have a 1+ player game for once! Perfect for when you're making dinner and can help if needed while they play at the kitchen table. Turns can be taken if there's more than one kid, but it's nice that it's an easily self-led game.

This is a great thinking game/activity. Love how the cards are color coded and the pieces are just the right size for the little hands. Really gets their attention and they focus and concentrate on the puzzle. Kept them entertained for a good half hour at a time

First, this puzzle was fun for a wide range of my children! I love how the 2 y/o up to the 7 y/o all enjoy this in different ways. LR toys never disappoint with the variety of options they give for play and learning based on the age of the child! The puzzle comes in a sturdy storage box, and the pieces within are brightly colored, strong plastic. The cardboard puzzle cards are color coded by 4 different challenge types, and in increasing difficulty based on different tasks; they are clear and well-made, and easy to understand. Many of the puzzles are multiple step, as well (eg, build the puzzle in the picture, then change the piece that is different). It's great for younger kids to work quietly on their own because after a brief explanation, reading is not required. They can even check their own work, as the answers are on the backs of the cards. It's also fun to work with the little ones, watching how their minds are working to complete the challenges! My 7 y/o breezed through them in one sitting, focusing on completing the puzzles correctly as quickly as she could; the 4 y/o works on a few at a time and needs to concentrate more on the patterns themselves. My two year old matches colors, and stacks the blocks, sometimes hiding the slightly smaller shapes within the coordinating blocks. This is a well-designed, fun logic puzzle game for preschoolers and early school age children, introducing ideas such as pattern solving, depth perception, seeing objects from a different viewpoint, and similarities and differences. My kids were so excited to open it an start playing. We have had so much fun with this game. I love how there are different puzzle cards. They are separated by color coded borders. Each color is a different kind of puzzle solving. I have played with them and they are able to play on their own too. The pieces are very colorful and are very sturdy. The puzzle cards are bright the pictures are big. It includes a great activity guide that is filled with ideas to challenge your child and encourage critical thinking. I really like this toy, beginning with the cool packaging that really appealed to my daughter. The instructions are a little tough for a 6-year old, but with adult supervision and help she was able to get into the game and really enjoy it. The construction and quality of materials makes this toy stand out, and the character designs add a lot of personality. I would definitely recommend this to any parent who wants to help their child develop critical thinking and logic skills.
