The best way to sharpen knives to razor-sharp!
This 5000 grit glass water sharpening stone is great for maintaining your knives' razor-sharp edge, to a scalpel-like sharpness. As with most stone sharpeners, this does take some practice but can easily become one of your favorite maintenance activities. This is the next level of stone sharpening steppping up, gradually to start from a lower gritstone and stepping up to 1000 gritstone and either finish to that or with the higher grit such as 3000 or just skip to 5000. Depending on the knife hardness and edge, it is a personal preference and needs to use a variety of gritstone. It is advisable to start from a lower grit to sharpen and you finish with the higher grit. I suggest practicing on an inexpensive knife first when you are just getting the feel for stone sharpening. But it is totally worth the time and money for that perfectly clean cut. It just elevates the entire cooking experience when you have a really sharp knife for every cut. Practice makes it perfect!

Finishing Stone.
Another option in the Bob Kramer sharpening process. The 5000 grit works well after repair work. It can complete the process with a fine finishing and polishing.

Got a Kramer? Get a stone. A glass water sharpening stone that is! For tedious but healthy sharpening of your Kramer blades, this water stone is essential. Keep the edges sharp and the angles aligned for long-lasting durability.

Great finer grit whetstone
This is a great finishing stone, after sharpening on the coarser grit stones, this is the one that will polish up your knives to that razor edge sharpness you’ve grown to love and expect from the Kramer collection. A great tool to use and works well on Japanese and German knives.
