Enjoy your weekend getaway -- no cat sitter required. The PetSafe® Six Meal Pet Feeder makes sure your pet is fed on time, every time. This automatic feeder has 6 tray slots, plus 1 meal that is exposed and ready-to eat. Each tray compartment holds 1 cup of dry food. The capacity of the feeder makes it perfect for cats and small dogs. You can schedule any combination of 1-6 meals per day for your cat or dog using the digital clock with LCD display. You are able to select the time your pet is fed in 15-minute intervals. Once the schedule is set, your pet’s meals will automatically be served at the same time each day. When it’s time for your pet’s next meal, the tray will rotate and dispense your cat’s food into the bowl. If your pet tends to eat their food too quickly, or if you want to help manage your pet’s weight, use this feeder to schedule smaller meal portions to keep your best friend healthy. If you want to dispense a meal earlier than scheduled, simply press the Feed Now button on the display. If you need to stop scheduled meals for a brief time, use the Sleep Mode function. Using Sleep Mode will save your pet’s programmed meal schedule and preserves battery life. The clear, locking lid keeps your pet’s food fresh and keeps prying paws from sneaking food ahead of schedule. The lid also lets you see how much food is left in your pet’s feeder, so you know when you need to refill it. When it’s time to clean the feeder, place the BPA-free bowl and tray carousel in the top rack of the dishwasher and clean the other components with a damp cloth. Q: My cat gets fed 2 times a day so this will only hold 3 days of feeding and I'm going to be gone for a week. Will it stay programmed when it needs to be refilled or does it have to be reprogrammed?

A: Thank you for the great question! The Six Meal Feeder will stay programmed when it is refilled. The only times the feeder will need to be re-programmed would be if it looses power and/or is turned off then back on.

I bought this a few months ago to feed my cat while I'm gone. Programming the time sucks. It takes well over 20 minutes to program the time due to having to presss the minute button several thousand times to get to the hour you need. Hate it.

Thought the batteries went dead after a year. Spent another $10 on new batteries only to find out that it wasn’t the batteries but the feeder itself completely stopped working. For how much it costs and for it to completely stop functioning after 1 year I would never buy this company’s products again not recommend. Buyer beware!

We are sorry to hear the Six Meal Pet Feeder has not met your expectations! Please know that it is uncommon for these feeders to experience issues after just a year of use. As you mentioned you have already tried replacing the batteries, please ensure these batteries are alkaline only and are not rechargeable. If you do have the correct style of batteries, we recommend removing those batteries from the feeder and performing a battery drain. This can be done by pressing and holding any button on the feeder for about 20 seconds while th batteries have been removed. Then re-insert the batteries while making sure the orientation of those batteries is correct. If you still do not see a display after that time, we recommend pressing the Sleep button to make sure the feeder has not been accidentally placed in Sleep mode. If you have any further questions or concerns about this feeder, please let us know at 1-800-732-2677. We are always happy to help!

My dog requires to feed 4 times a day (6-hour interval) due to a health condition so 4 timings set. However sometimes it rotates 2 slots' worth of food and there's no telling when this will happen. Didn't help even if I enter fake timings for 5th and 6th time slot - no food in these slots. Any solutions?

Please know that if the feeder is turning more than one slot, this would be a result of how the feeder was programmed to deliver meals. In order to correct this, we would recommend resetting the feeder and entering the feed times again but make sure you are only programming one meal per each available slot. My dog, Sven, is quite small but he loves to eat more than he can handle. This is perfect for him, so he knows there is more food but he’s not getting it all at once. I bought another one to use for the cats! Makes it easier on me when I need to be out of town for a night or two. Then I only have to worry about someone taking Sven out for a walk & changing the litter, it’s a game changer!

My cat trained herself and knows when food is about to be available. She runs to it when it starts to get dispensed. The size is perfect for her. I also noticed that when food got dispensed, no good got left behind. It would dispense all the food without any getting stuck behind. This feeder is very convenient for when I’m gone almost all day. Sometimes I work 10hr shifts and it is perfect for the PM feeding time. At first I used it for both morning and PM feed but now I only use for the PM feed due to me being able to feed my cat before I head to work.

She's a nervous dog and doesn't like anything new or loud and she really doesn't mind eating out of this. It's really easy to program and setup. I'm gone for work 10 or more hours a day so this feeder is perfect for us. I can fix 3 days worth of meals at a time.

It works perfectly and is great for when your not at home to feed your furry friend. You can program it to feed up to six times a day, and up to half an hour apart or longer. I programmed mine to feed twice a day for 3 days, than I have to refill it. I highly recommend it to pet owners who are often on the go.

I got it so that I can leave for the weekend and know that my cat is being fed while I’m away. I’ve already got an automatic litter box, which is great. Now I can go away and not worry that my cat ate all of his food in one day and is starving for the rest of the time. I guess it’s good for anytime as well, even if I’m not away. Hope it works

With this feeder, you control each portion so it is as accurate as you want it to be - right to the gram if you use a scale. The battery seems to last forever and the unit itself is virtually silent. the only sound we hear is the noise the food makes sliding into the bowl when it is feeding time. There is no mechanical noise. Programming is quite easy if you follow the directions in the manual.
We love that we can program it for 6 meals!

We feed our dog twice a day and with all the people in our house, we’d get confused on who fed her or if anyone fed her at all... This feeder will feed her for 3 days! It takes the thinking out of it. You just program it to when you want your dog (or cat) to eat, fill it and you’re good to go! I’d say that this feeder is better suited for a small to medium size dog. It’s good quality and we love how the pieces come out, making it very easy to clean. We love it! Just remember to refill the slots every three days or so...

I use this for my small dog, I intended for to be used for my cat but she doesn’t have a set feeding schedule. It works very well for my pup though. She eats almost a cup a food twice a day and she now waits for it to dispense she has gotten so used to it. I only have to refill it twice a week which is awesome. I definitely like this product and will be a recurrent customer.
