Q: Is this a good item to use if you want to convert a lot of slides to digital or is it too cumbersome a project?

A: Hello! Thank you for your question! This unit can be used to covert a large number of slides, however, this model is designed for a few slides at a time. We do have the Kodak Scanza, a standalone unit that can scan faster and saves the images to an SD card! Hope this helps!
