Did someone mail me a used blanket?
A used item. This was not listed as a third party seller, but seems to be. It was meant to be a gift, but I received a smelly ( perfume plus mold odor) blanket with no tags, nothing. It was thrown in a plastic bag, and shipped in a poly mailer. If Indidnt know better, I’d have thought it was a mistake like a preowned eBay purchase only I bought this from Target. Come on Target do better- maybe screen where you are sourcing products from, or at least make it clear you are ordering from a reseller who is shipping things from their basement. GROSS

Looks nice, but smells like a musty basement
Looks nice, but it has strange odor that smells like a combination of musty basement and twice-baked fabric softener. The odor dimished very slightly after 3 washes (detergent, then vinegar, then oxy-bleach), but still not enough for the blanket to be usable indoors. I'm guessing it's some type of chemical treatment for the cotton. The blanket is fairly light and thin and might be useful outdoors, assuming you can tolerate the odor. The blanket also shed enough fibers in the wash to make a small sweater (do NOT wash this with anything else in the drum) and left an inch-thick layer of lint in the trap. As expected, it shrank quite a bit and is closer to 48" x 52".
