Use the tips & visuals in this guide to make taking your child's body measurements easy-peasy.

Don’t have a fabric tape measure? Use a shoelace or pant leg to measure. Then, lay it flat & use a ruler or tape measure to get a numerical measurement.

How to measure

  • Height

    Standing with feet together and back to a wall. Measure from floor to the top of the head.

  • Chest

    Have your child make airplane arms. Wrap tape measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping it level & snug.

  • Waist

    With your child bending to one side, measure the point where the waist flexes naturally. Keep the tape level & comfortably loose.

  • Hip

    Have your child stand like a tall tree with feet together. Measure a level line around the fullest part of the hips & seat.

  • Inseam

    Take a pair of pants that fit your child well. Measure along the seam from crotch to leg opening.

    Way to long, thin

    Purchased the Size M for my 7 month old. This item is way too long, double the length of his body. It actually is as long as my 3 year old, who has always been in the 90th percentile for height. The thickness is about as thin as a standard tshirt. Beware buying from a Target third party, as their return policies are different from Target’s. You only have 30 days to return, so I’m stuck with an item that would be too long for a 12 month old.

    I’m not totally sold on this sleeper. There is a big zipper that zips from the bottom up, and then a button closure that covers the zipper at the top. My baby likes to chew on his clothes so this worries me. The fit is also on the larger size and it’s loose throughout the whole body of the sleeper.

    .5 TOG sleep sack (not in product description online but printed on the packaging)

    I purchased this in a 18-24 month. it is slightly smaller than I was hoping. it's also .5 tog which was printed on the packaging but not included in the product description. in the picture is a 6-18 month Kyte baby sleep sack and a 12-18 month Halo sleep sack. this product is longer than the halo by maybe 4 inches but the same as the the Kyte baby. it is wider than both at the bottom, and wider than the Kyte baby by quite a bit. haven't used it yet but it looks generally good and for the price I'll accept it being slightly shorter than I was hoping for.
