Beautiful color and quality

The photo in the product description is absolutely correct. I am so pleased with this bedspread. The color is great, and it is nice and soft. I also loved buying it through Target because they kept me updated on order and it arrived perfectly! You will need to order pillow shams separately.

Thinner than I expected

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was expecting something thicker, like what I consider a normal quilt. This is more like a light blanket. Also I'm not big on the texture, it just feels odd to me. The wife tried to convince me that it's a decorative blanket, like the pillows we don't sleep on. I told her she was crazy and that no one would have a decorative blanket that large. That being said, since it's thin I think it'd make a great summer blanket. Also I love the color, it's a really deep emerald green. It looks great.

The color of the quilt is vibrant and looks great pairing with our decor. The stitching lines up nicely with attention paid to detail. It is lightweight and easy to move around. I would recommend this quilt to anyone that wants a soft and light weight quilt.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Empire velvet quilt is a wonderful soft blend of velvet and polyester. It is not too heavy and slightly breathable. It is absolutely amazing to snuggle up into. The material doesn't make you too hot. The stitching is very well done featuring a beautiful diamond pattern. The coloring is vibrant yet not too bright as the photos suggest.

Luxurious yet not overly fussy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] BirchHill Empire makes a beautiful velvet green king size quilt. The color is a beautiful emerald with complementary green stitching and matching binding. I noticed several details that impressed me: The stitching across the diamond pattern goes a step beyond the expected, yielding a distinguished star pattern at each intersection. The fabric has a dignified sheen that is more subtle than suggested in the reference photo. It doesn't feel like a traditional velvet; it is a lower pile and much more densely woven. This is not a heavy quilt; it is similar in weight to a traditional bedspread as opposed to a puffy comforter. The whole thing is bound with printed canvas ribbon, which would make a pretty gift presentation. I hoped for a zippered plastic bag for off-season storage, but that wasn't included. In any case, it is pretty, very nicely constructed, and appears to be made for many years of service.
