Although it is reversible, the attractive plaid colors add character to any furniture it is placed on when not in use. Additionally, we like to have the faux shearling side over our body for that warm-feel when using it. I expected the flannel to feel softer. It resembles a thin-fabric plaid shirt. The lack of bulk adds to its portability to any outdoor event. Additionally, my wife likes the way it lays on our living room chair. The light fabric makes it easier to throw over a chair and take the shape you desire. This is more like a throw than a blanket because of its size. It is a throw that we use to cover our legs and part of our torso. However, it is the perfect size while sitting outdoors by the fire, as this is all the coverage we want. It is a year-round throw blanket that is functional and decorative! We have not yet washed it to say how it holds up after cleaning yet we are confident that it will wash well because of the quality of the Eddie Bauer brand.
