    qualification

The 8” pan worked flawlessly. However, the 12” pan turned into a mess that I had to scrub down and reseason. In the future, I will always add seasoning to a new pan even if it is supposed to be “pre-seasoned. ” Perhaps OXO should advise people about this.

    Extremely Poor-Quality Vs Advertisements

I purchased two frypans to make egg omelets. After the 1st use, which was O. K. , all sequent uses the pan burned the eggs to the point that it was impossible to make an omelet using your frypan. The eggs welded themselves to your non-stick surface, it was impossible to make an omelet using your frypan! I was so disgusted with your product that threw both pans in the trash. I will never buy or recommend any OXO products!

    Carbon steel newbie

I’m under the impression that this is not a traditional carbon steel pan. Lighter weight thus thinner metal I guess. We’re liking it so far and satisfied its nonstick quality. A bit of a pain that you shouldn’t let it air dry. The bigger pan I noticed becomes concaved in the middle when it gets hot.

    Only used the pan 2-3

Only used the pan 2-3 times. It was great for eggs cooked with a little butter. I cooked a veggie burger with olive oil. The oil is burnt on. I tried the recommended cleaning directions but the grease barely budged. Will try to return.

Great Pan at a Great Price

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great pan at a great price. I have been using it daily to cook eggs on my induction stove and find it more non stick than the non stick pan it replaced. It performs beautifully releasing food without sticking and then cleans with just a rinse. In addition it is one of the least expensive pans I looked at.

    Not happy with my pan

Bought an 8" and it was great for a few months; primarily used for cooking eggs. But now it is losing its non stick qualities; eggs even cooked with lot of butter are sticking to pan and there are silverish spots showing up on the surface. I might go back to non stick

I would buy it again, but

I really love the shape and size, and the cooking surface area! The handle is fantastic and I love that it is black and preseasoned… But there’s just a slight curiosity regarding the seasoned finish… Each time I cook a burger patty, or a steak in butter and olive oil, the black seasoned finish comes off a little more each time and reveals a more silvery finish. . . Rather than the seasoned finish building overtime, it seems to be diminishing, but it’s still is performing perfectly, and I would buy it again…

Just the right amount of care to performance

Love it, so much easier to care for than my cast iron. Ditched my ancient Teflon egg pan for this and I only wish I'd done it sooner. I'll be getting larger versions of the carbon steel pans ASAP.

    Great until it wasn’t

Loved this plan for the first few months, but then it lost its non-stick coating after frying a hamburger patty. Reseasoning might restore it, but for how long? OXO’s regular non-stick fry pans have lasted longer with no signs of losing their coating.

    Perfect Egg Pan

Love the Oxo line of carbon steel. It started with the removable handle skillet that I bought to use on my smoker and I quickly started using it indoors because it performed better than a much more expensive carbon steel pan. This is perfect for cooking an egg or two. The factory seasoning is superb. It heats up quickly and is easy to manage temperature. Some people say it is too thin and might warp but I have not had that problem with my glass electric stove, I just head low and slow.

    Excellent build quality and handle

Excellent build quality and handle design is outstanding. Seasoning a carbon steel pan is always a long term issue, but within the constraints of using this material, this pan is excellent
