NOT THE SAME! Changed the recipe!
This changed product is inferior to the original recipe. It doesn't even have the mussel smell any longer, which seems impossible when using real mussel. Also, it now requires 2 pieces for 600mg of mussel instead of 1 piece at 500 mg. I tried using for nearly 2 weeks and this version no longer works for my dogs. I hope zesty paws will change back to the original formula that was actually beneficial and worked!

FORMULA CHANGED. I purchased 500mg, received 300mg
I ordered 6 containers of Mussel Mobility Bites on May 23rd 2024. I noticed the chews were smaller and shaped differently. When I looked at the container, it showed that there is only 300 mg of green lipid mussels per chew. When I went to check product, noticed other reviews that had the same issue and as of this date the website is still not updated with the correct dosage amount.

I've already thrown the old bottle away, but it had a specific variety of green-lipped mussel (New Zealand, if I'm remembering correctly) and a higher dose, and it worked great. The old purple bottle was still showing on the website when I ordered it, so it was a surprise when I received a different product. As soon as we switched formulas, I could see the difference in my dog's movement, for the worse. Please bring back the old formula!

I have used the Mussel Mobility Bites for years. However, the formula they sent recently contains only 300 mg per chew instead of 500 mg per chew. It also has a new name ("mussel hip and joint bites' ) They said they hadn't updated their site yet to reflect the change. The new dose (300 mg) isn't high enough per chew for my 125 pound dog. Also, it's not acceptable to advertise one thing, and send another. I've always been very supportive of Zesty Paws...both their products and also their customer service. I'll continue to support them. This, however, is not acceptable. I'm hoping they will revert to the great formula I've come to rely on.

Have been giving these for a few years now for my younger large breed dogs as a preventative and to maintain their joint health. The price point is great and for long term use I like that these don't seem to have any GI side effects like glucosamine/chondroitin can have. The treats are super stinky but my dogs absolutely love them. For my previous senior dog I combined these with glucosamine/chondroitin treats and the combo made a huge difference in his last 1-2 years of life.

After 3 weeks of use, I noticed that my 8 yr old Golden was much more agile, over-jumping things and running faster. I pay attention to her mobility and she has been on joint supplement, but this was our first trial of green lipped mussel for it's other anti-inflammatory properties. It straight up smells like canned clams or oysters, but she loves it. What keeps us using this product is when I switched to a different joint support that included green-lipped muscle and stopped Zesty Paws version, she started to lose a bit of pep in her step after 2 weeks. I should have started this a few years ago with her other joint support, but I'm glad she's on it now!
