Q: I purchased his item expecting to connect 2 panels in a straight line (like 1st photo) the poles and instruction only show L shape connection? am I missing something?

A: The connect post has three grooves in total, two grooves are covered by the inserts. Please remove all the inserts on the connect posts, then you can install the panels in a straight line.
