Drybar The Curl Party Heated Curling Round Brush - Ulta Beauty

I have had this heated round curling brush for about a year now & it works good for me. I do have a question, tho. There was a review from 3/2024 asking how you clean it. There was no response but I really need to know how in order to clean all the product off. Please help!

Within five minutes of using this tool, my hair was tangled. There was no going back. For over an hour, I attempted to untangle my hair, however I got nowhere. I ended up having to cut my hair in order to remove this tool from my head. It was a total nightmare.

Nightmare! My daughter’s first day of high school and she was excited to use the tool to do her hair. Disaster. It took over an hour to remove it with many torn pieces of hair in front. Now we are having to go get it cut this evening. Made her first day/ morning sad. It is not meant for thick wavy hair and tangles way too easily without any release methods.

I have keratin-treated hair that is extremely fine (sensitive to high temps) and fly-away. I have always used the curling iron with hair-like bristles and over time the bristles fell off leaving bare spots on the wand. I was a bit hesitant to buy this one because of the higher price, but I'm so glad that I did! It's perfect. The rubber bristles gently grab my hair, and I really like being able to set the temp (300℉-325℉) to minimize heat damage.

I really liked this product, but the tempture control isn’t working after just 18 months. I didn’t keep the receipt so no warranty:(

I am a licensed, professional hairstylist for 40 plus years. I got this thing stuck so badly in my hair. Maybe on shorter, straight fine hair but this should have been a no brainer. I can work a Marcel iron like nobody’s business so it’s definitely going to be an experience for a novice

This tool is soooo pointless! Your hair gets caught it in and my hair is already straightened and soft when i tried it and it was absolutly terrible!

I have very coarse, thick hair and this works great. I also like the teeth on it, they are not too long and alternate between hard and flexible ones. I've had other curling brushes that have had long hard teeth that break off when they hit the counter. These hold up much better.

The brush is so skinny that when i use it on my ends it just doesn't look natural. It coils too tight. I have hair that's almost to my lower back, so maybe it's too long for this type of brush but I wish I returned it.

Did fine for the sides of my hair, but NOT the back. Once it was rolled up it. would. not. unroll. I ran my head under cold water to keep from burning a chunk of hair off, but it still took 15 minutes and a ton of conditioner to get it out.

I saw a lot of other comments about it being terrible. I made sure to brush out my hair first and spray heat protectant. This brush created the best blowout look!!! My hair is so soft and if you use it correctly you can get a really nice curl!!

Makes great curls just need a little more practice in doing it.

I usually don't write reviews, but I have consistently had such a horrible experience with this tool that I feel I need to warn others. This is the absolute worst hair tool I've ever used, and I've used many. I actually bought this about 2 years ago when the heated round brushes first became popular, and the Amika one was sold out everywhere. I was looking for something different from my Dyson that would still be able to give me a bouncy blowout style look. I usually love Drybar products, so when I found this one I was super excited. I've used it on occasion throughout the last two years since then, and every single time I do my hair gets horribly tangled in some way. This morning before work I had that same experience, and remembered why I have stopped reaching for this brush in my roster of hair tools. Somehow I managed to get it out without cutting anything, but I lost so much hair anyways I probably should've just started with the scissors. The side of my head where the brush was stuck actually still hurts as I write this. I have super fine hair, and granted it is somewhat long, but I've never actually had a hair tool that just didn't work for me, I've been able to use all of them for some purpose in some way. Now that I own and use the Amika and Bondi Boost round brushes to compare it to, I think the main problem with this Drybar one is the material of the brush. With the other brushes, the materials are slick and help your hair slide through the barrel like a normal curling device, but the heated ceramic barrel with the rubber tips of this brush are just a recipe for disaster. I've tried multiple ways to use this brush and have watched countless tutorials over this specific one thinking that maybe it does work differently than other round brushes, but I just can't get it to glide through my hair. I've also been consistently (daily) heat styling my hair for 15 years, and know how to prep it so that everything goes smoothly. I individually apply heat protectanct and brush through each strand right before using the tool, but with this no level of prep results in an optimal outcome. Definitely save your money and buy literally any other heated round brush, even the one from TikTok shop works better than this one, which is really saying something.

This didn't get stuck in my hair as other reviews mentioned, but it just didn't distribute enough heat to work as I hoped it would. It added a little flip at the ends, but took a LONG time to get hot enough, even at 450 degrees, to hold shape. I have very long, thick hair. It styled by bangs amazingly though. This likely would be a great product for someone with finer, shorter hair.

FIRST - all of the reviewers stating this will rip your hair out are DOING IT WRONG!! You should always detangle your hair before using any heat tool but especially this one. Don't be lazy and try to rush! This creates beautiful long lasting curls!

I’ve tried this product twice and both times have resulted in massive hair loss. It works well if you hold it at the perfect angle, but one minor angle turn and your long hair is forever lost into this barrel. It is absolutely terrifying when your hair is stuck in a 410 degree barrel.

Wish I could return it, but I think I held on to it too long. Difficult to use, I worried I was going to burn my hair b/c couldn't get it unwound. Sits in my closet taking space.

I wanted to love this product, but within the first 5 minutes of use it was stuck in my hair at 350 degrees and took 3 people in my family to untangle it without cutting my hair. I then proceeded to lose clumps of hair throughout the day. It curled the ends nice, but as soon as you try to roll it up as stated in the directions, it latches on and knots. The material used to make the bristles was a very poor choice.
