This cleanser has garnered mixed feedback from guests, particularly due to a recent change in scent that many find off-putting. While it has been praised for its gentle, hydrating formula suitable for sensitive skin, the new citrus fragrance has led to disappointment among long-time users. Guests appreciate its cruelty-free and vegan ingredients, as well as its effectiveness in removing makeup without stripping the skin. However, the inconsistency in scent and formulation has raised concerns about its reliability as a go-to product.

So far so good
I've been using this product for a few days now and my skin seems to like it. I love that it has green tea in it and is unscented because my skin is sensitive to scents. Some people mentioned a citrusy smell which I think is from the pinus pinaster bark extract (pine). I actually can't smell any citrus in it. This product has left my skin glowing and hydrated. My skin barrier seemed to be damaged with acne spots all over. It now looks less angry and dried out after using this product. I feel confident after every use that it will calm my skin down and hydrate it.

New citrus my smell
I've been through two bottles of this cleanser before opening my current bottle. This cleanser was a 5 star, ride or die product until now. I don't know why it now has a strong Curtis scent, but it does. Previously purchased bottles were absolutely unscented. This new scent is not only off putting when I'm using it, but the smell sticks to my face and hands afterwards. I have to find a new cleanser now. I won't risk my money buying another bottle in hope that it won't stink. So disappointed!

Long time lover but…. new smell??
I've been using, LOVING and even RAVING about this cleanser for a long time now. i recently just ordered two more bottles, and to my shock the scent has changed!! It's now a decently strong sweet citrus smell. While it isn't unpleasant, the cleanser i know and love is a 10/10 in every way my sensitive skin needed my cleanser needed to be. Its unscented formula was one of the best things about it. I was disappointed to see too that the ingredients have not changed at all, as well as no fragrance added… despite it definitely having a fragrance! i'm confused but i will test out and see how my skin handles this new formula. i don't feel as comfortable using it as an all over makeup remover now though… :( i hope you change it back!! Please!! 😆

Citrus Scent
For the last couple of years this was my go to for my rosacea prone skin having changed from Origins checks and balances when the peppermint starting bothering me. I just opened my new bottle and it has an extremely strong offputting citrus scent. I checked and the bottle still says fragrance free - it most certainly is not. I immediately stopped using it. I'm so disappointed the formula was changed and the marketing is deceptive. It is no longer fragrance free -will have to find a new face wash.

Have used this for years and just went to use a new bottle and I immediately smelled a very strong citrus smell. Another review mentions the same. The botttle still says fragrance free and looks the same as old bottles but this is certainly not fragrance free. It's thicker too and with the strong smell. This is either a fake or reformulation. Super disappointing as this was my go to with rosacea.

It doesn’t bother my sensitive skin, it cleans but doesn’t strip the skin. It leaves my skin soft. I love it!

They changed the formula. Smells like fake citrus now
I had switched to this brand 6 months or so ago from a brand that also changed its formula. This was great and had no smell and was great for my sensitive skin. Last time I went to purchase there was a weird citrus smell and when I reached out to the company they lied and said nothing had changed. Will not repurchase unless they go back to the old formula.

Will never buy this product again.
I really loved this face wash due to it being very mild for my sensitive skin and fragrance free. I have bought several bottles of this and had no problem. However, my last bottle smells like gross fake citrus and I can't help wondering what I'm putting on my face. Unfortunately I will not be able to continue buying this product unless the fragrance issue gets resolved. Unsure how they can change their recipe a still use the same packaging and "fragrance-free" label. Would not recommend, unless you want to feel like you're putting a kitchen cleaning product on your face.

Why did you change the formula???
I was a loyal customer of the Sensitive Skin line before it became the Pure-Biome cleanser. I loved the cleanser because it was FRAGRANCE FREE, mild and creamy. Perfect for my morning cleanse. I waited for the product to come back in stock and bought 4 bottles. WHAT HAPPENED??? The scent is SOOO STRONG that it is hard to use. It is still creamy and mild, but I can't get over the scent. So sad and now looking for a new favorite :(

Formula Change? Deceiving Marketing!!
I recently bought a new batch of this cleanser. On the back of the bottle it is noted to be "fragrance free" as the previous batches, however this time around there is an extremely off putting citrus scent. I don't understand why the original formula was changed without any updates to the packaging on the bottle. This is false advertising.

I wish I had listened to the bad reviews
This cleanser gave my sensitive skin a horrible reaction and caused me painful breakouts. It was probably the only new product in my routine. I don't know how it's marketed as suitable for sensitive skin when it does the exact opposite. Many people have had the same complaint in the comments. I thought it was gonna be different for me. What a waste of $17. I am using it up as a body wash. If you have sensitive skin and loved their discontinued Sensitive Skin Cleanser , then don't buy this hoping for a replacement. It's awful. I don't know why they discontinued it. It was the only cleanser that worked on my very sensitive skin. What a loss.

New Batch is Causing Breakouts
I ordered a recent batch of the biome balancing cleanser, which was restocked on Friday, September 26th. Since then, I have been breaking out nonstop. It has a strong citrus smell, which is odd because I have used this product for about a year without any scent. I am allergic to scented soaps, so I avoid them for this reason. I don't understand how a product marketed for sensitive skin could change so much in a short period. To be honest, the other discontinued product, "DERMA E Fragrance Free Sensitive Skin Cleanser with Pycnogenol," was the best. Please, do right by your sensitive skin customers and fix this new batch or bring back the old one. If it wasn't broken, why change it?

Great as a first cleanse!
LOVE using this as a first cleanse at the end of the day. It's not strong enough for my particular skin needs (sensitive & rosacea, but with blackheads) to really get in there, but it removes makeup and SPF flawlessly. I used the previous version of this as well (green lettering & had Pycnogenol) and loved that one too.

Possibly the best facial cleanser I've used
Great ingredients, doesn't strip the skin, and doesn't foam which indicates it doesn't contain any sulfates which is awesome. Manages acne well and leaves the skin clean and soft.

Not for sensitive skin!
I was told that Sensitive Skin cleanser no longer in products. This was the newer product. They are wrong! I am breaking out small pimples, pinkish, bumps and small rashes in some areas. I am upset because it took me long time to find product and found Sensitive Skin was best!! Please bring Sensitive Skin line products BACK!!

♥Left Me Filmy And Broke Me Out♥
Oof. I started using the Derma-E Pure Biome Face Cleanser after they discontinued the previous Sensitive Skin Cleanser. (Can we never just have anything nice?) The old cleanser worked perfectly for me; this one was awful. It made my skin soft for the first few days, but then my pores started to get clogged, and when I looked in the mirror after washing my face, I noticed that there seemed to be some kind of shiny film left on my skin. I broke out within a week of using this, and nothing else had changed for me. I also wear SPF every day, and this face wash definitely doesn't get my skin clean at the end of the day. I ended up using the Current State brand Strawberry + Probiotic Balancing Gel Cleanser, and it's nicely clearing up the breakouts and residue the Pure Biome Face Cleanser left behind. I have slightly oily but very sensitive skin, and the Derma-E Pure Biome Face Cleanser is not for people like me. ♥

Why
Why would you take away a perfectly good cleanser, the sensitive skin cleanser, for no reason. The pure biome one gave me a reaction and broke me out, why as a company can you not leave decent products alone. I always see Derma e has a problem with this where they will change a product and not keep the old version for those who used that product. Example: the hydrating cleaner they changed, the cbd cleanser they took away, the sensitive skin cleanser they took away. The sensitive skin cleanser was literally the best cleanser I have ever used it was simple and effective please bring it back. It was just so perfectly simple
