Q: There are two stem devices that look identical to me and have the same box but one is 19.99 and this one is 17.79 what is the difference? They both say they contain the device plus one refill. They have identical product boxes so I’m a bit confused.

A: I have not purchased it yet but per the picture, it says one device and 1 refill so I assume you are paying for the device and 1 cartridge rather than having to buy the device and get a cartridge.

Scam
Don't waste your money. I’ve had this "trap" in my kitchen for a week, and the fruit flies are still throwing a rave like it’s Coachella. It doesn't catch anything! For $15, I basically bought a glowing nightlight for bugs to admire before flying away to breed more friends. If you want the same effect, just slap some double-sided tape on a lamp and leave it on overnight—you’ll save money and probably catch more. Don't get me started on the overpriced "refills". Target should remove this scam from their store ASAP.

Does not work for fruit flys.
The fruit flys are so bad this year so I decided to try this lamp. It has been plugged in for a week in my kitchen and it has not caught a single fly. I put out a bowl with a splash of red wine with plastic wrap and a few holes in it and I catch a bunch of flys within minutes. Don’t waste your money.

I put this right next to my fruit basket where most of the gnats are and in a week it only caught 1. And I think that was just because the gnat was flying by. I bought this one because it was more cost effective. I guess you get what you pay for.
