The traps work best when they’re in spots that are easily accessible to flying insects. Avoid placing in spots where it’s hard for flying insects to access, like behind furniture, curtains or other tucked-away spots. The trap can be effective in the daytime, but more natural daylight = more competition for the trap. Controlled laboratory testing supports the claim that the Zevo Trap is effective against gnats, house flies, and fruit flies. If the trap is placed in an outlet for about 1 week but doesn't seem to be catching bugs, we recommend trying it in another location. Another tip is to avoid plugging the trap where furniture, doors, curtains, or corners may obstruct the insect from finding its way in, or near other bright light sources that may distract insects away. To make the trap appealing to bugs, it’s best if it’s not placed near other lights at night. The blue and UV light attracts bugs to the trap and they can get confused or distracted by several light sources.
