The mat is nonslip on the back. I love how the crinkle cutter and the shredder fit with a good grip in your hands.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is pretty awesome! I haven't used all the tools yet but there's one in particular that I'm able to cut up veggies with. It gives a nice texture for baby's little hands to grab onto it without it slipping. It's not incredibly sharp but it cuts pretty dang well! It also comes with a place mat where it shows you how small or big to cut the pieces of food, as well as appropriate size.

The measured Matt is really helpful with sizes of peices to be cutting for her age . The little tools to grate her food work really good. Used it on apples and carrots and made just right easy to eat hand sized portions. Even the bottom of the matt chart where it explains the food types and theie benefits is actually super handy ! Nice remeber to vary what i offer her. Easy to clean up as well . Great idea .

I like that it has a protective covering over the blades. It comes with a thin mat too to do all your prepping and slicing. Can't forget the vibrant cute colors of the utensils. The crinkle cutter is awesome- the notches in the food crest perfect grips for a baby to pick up slippery food, like bananas! What I love about this product, is that it is something that can grow with your child- I can easily see my baby safely learning to cut their own food with these products as an older toddler. The cutting board is very helpful as a first time parent. It has some helpful reminders about food size safety. There is nothing worse than the fear of choking and this is a extremely useful reminder for anyone preparing food for our baby. Love that the grater comes with a protector case- works wonderfully to cut dangerous food into handheld soft pieces for baby every-time! Plus, the magic words all busy parents want to hear!—— Dishwasher safe! I appreciate the convenience of everything thing in the set- my only complaint is the grader is a bit large and does not fit easily in my drawer- but I also understand that the dodge helps with was of use. I’d say, perfect for first time parent- but I think this would be helpful for new and experienced caretakers alike!

The kit includes a cutting guide which is super helpful in getting food the right size based on your baby's age. It also includes prep styles and appropriate amounts for the baby. The crinkle cutter and grater work really well and actually cut everything in the right size. Even my toddler likes the crinkle cut foods so we use that for him too. Both items are dishwasher safe and easily cleaned and the mat can be wiped clean or washed. This has been a fun way to introduce solids to my baby and the blades continue to work well and have not dulled with repeated use. Even after my baby has outgrown the need for it, the crinkle cutter will continue to be a fun way to cut foods.
