Received damaged product and Target doesnt care

Product was damaged in compressed cardboard sheeting (no box packaging). Most likely damaged by 3rd party sellers before it left their warehouse. Targets only solution was for me to time out of my schedule and drive 25-30 miles to the nearest store or shipping drop off location. For none of this extra work on part would I be compensated, even though none of this was due to my own fault. Or they could give me a 6$ online credit for my trouble and I keep the damaged items. Do not rely on target to back the products they sell.
