Milk Glass Flush Mount Celling Light - Hearth & Hand™ with Magnolia

I was a little hesitent to buy this fixture based off earlier reviews. However, I have the matching three-light fixture in a bathroom and wanted a companion light in the room adjacent. I am happy to report that we did not have any of the fitting issues seen in previous comments, which makes me believe there has been a recent design improvement. Installation was easy and the glass shade feels very securely on. It came with a clear rubber seal along the rim of the shade that helped grip the screws and protect the glass from over-tightening. Once installed, I tugged and tried to wiggle the shade and nothing budged! Happy with this purchase.

Finally had to hire an electrician to hang this. The holes weren’t the same so we had to go get different size screws and the black round caps didn’t work great so we had to go get regular nuts to tighten it. Then once we got it hung up, I guess the finishing screws weren’t in well enough and the whole light fell in the night and shattered. The light was really cute for a day

These are beautiful and look high end! I bought two and didn’t have any trouble installing them, but it might be a little difficult to twist in the screws that hold the glass if you have large hands.

Like other reviewers mentioned, the screws that hold the glass and not long enough and do not properly hold the glass in the mount. It took a while to install, and by that evening the glass had cracked in the light fixture and was ready to fall. Luckily we took it down before it shattered.

Absolutely stunning! This light looks like so many I've seen at high end designer stores. The metal is a true antique looking bronze gold and the glass is beautiful. So happy with this purchase!

Glass did not fit on mount.

The glass does not secure in the fixture at all. The 3 set screws barely touch the glass when dialed all the way in. After a few days the glass randomly fell and shattered. This product could kill a child!

It wasn’t designed correctly, after installing the glass globe fell on the floor and shattered. There wasn’t any holes or a lip to keep the globe in the base. Very disappointed.

This light fixture is flawed. The milk glass cover doesn't have any angle to it or a lip to catch on the holding screws, so it comes right back off. Just spent over an hour taking down the old fixture to replace with this new one, only to find the screws don't grip onto anything to hold the cover in place. It came right back off. Thank goodness I never let go, it would have crashed to the floor! Now I have a light fixture base with 2 exposed light bulbs in my kitchen, until I can find a new fixture that I like enough, so that I can return this one. Very disappointing. Complete waste of money and my time.

The whole light is just not made well. It’s just a large bee hive shaped plastic feeling light. Will be returning

The milk glass cover does not fit properly in to the black mounting fixture. This inhibits proper screwing. If you screw it in improperly it will stay up but it’s crooked and unsafe. I bought 5 and am returning all 5 of them. I expect better from Magnolia!

I bought this light and cannot get the screws to stay on....am I supposed to remove the tape around the glass? Or does anyone know what size screws I can buy that are longer? Help!!

Love this light! It’s super classic and was easy to install. We ordered one for our nursery and immediately ordered another for my husband’s office.

I love vintage items. This fixture reminded me of the old school house fixtures. Purchased as a hall way light but it was much bigger than I anticipated, so I hung it in my laundry room instead.

This is a beautiful ceiling lamp - I purchased 2 for my upstairs hallway. The installation went somewhat smoothly; however, the brass screws that hold the milk glass shade in place are too short making it mpossible to complete installation. The same was true for BOTH ceiling fixtures. I have ordered longer brass screws from Amazon ($18) to see if they will work. Otherwise, the lights are beig returned. I would expect better quality control for a $100 light fixture. Hearth and Hand needs to do better.

These are nice, simple and clean, the style I was looking for at an affordable price. But Target's quality control needs serious improvement. I ordered 6 and only 2 arrived in good, usable condition. The glass on the other 4 had obvious imperfections- bubbling, scratching, black scuff marks, cracks. I had to return the damaged ones and reorder. The new ones are still not perfect. I'm going to use them because they're minor imperfections that can be hidden, but this really should be addressed as this isn't the first Magnolia item with severe manufacturing defects.
