Q: How large is the actual opening? I am thinking to use this for cat litter disposal, and wonder what size scoop would be able to push open the flap to dump clumps into bag.

submitted by smc - 2 years ago

  • A: They came out with one for cats called the litter genie

submitted byE - 2 years ago

  • A: The opening is about 6.9". Please note that there is a hub, designed to block odors once you open the lid. As an alternative we do have a cat litter disposal system that was created specifically for cats. Better than Munchkin’s… Maybe

Munchkin has a cheap closing lid latch mechanism but a better seal at the top. Diaper Genie has a nicer lid, and a built in cutter but I can’t imagine this chute latch is better at keeping the smell contained.
