Smart Fitness Scale - Etekcity: Digital Body Composition Analyzer, BMI, Muscle Mass, Body Water Tracking

my old regular digital scale stopped working so i thought it’d be a good idea to invest in one of these fancier ones that read a lot more than just weight. i had this scale and really loved it for a week (maybe 6 days) before it started throwing errors and reading wildly different numbers when i was on or off of it. it would read anywhere from 40 something all the way up to 400 and often would continue counting up and down while on it and even after stepping off of it and even still would not calibrate back to zero, just a different number every time i stepped off. i had it sitting on a hard flat surface, the feet were clean with no debris on them, the platform was clean, i always stepped on it with bare feet, i reset the scale multiple times and the weight units and still would not return back to normal. i returned the scale yesterday bc it was incredibly disappointing having it sit and be useless to me after enjoying it and all the options it offered for barely even a week. im hoping the issues i had with this scale are not common. i do want to try reordering it and hopefully have more long lasting luck with a new one but i am a bit apprehensive about it. if i do and have the same issues, i will definitely not be wasting my time with this brand ever again. these products are too expensive to be having flukes like this.

It’s couldn’t to set up, I think Bluetooth doesn’t work. Tried to do it manually. The scale has to be charged every day.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using this scale for 3 weeks and am pleased with the quality construction, consistency of the readings, and wide variety of different metrics tracked. I fully charged the scale when it arrived and even with daily use and more than one user I have not needed to charge it again and shows a nearly full battery. Setup was easy and I have had no issues connecting the scale to both wifi and bluetooth. Connection with my phone is almost immediate when I open the VeSync app used to view your health metrics on your phone. The many health metrics tracked are interesting and it's fun to see progress, but I cannot speak to the accuracy of these metrics other than weight. I have had other digital scales where the readings may vary slightly each time you step on and off the scale moments apart, however the readings on the Etekcity ES500+ are consistent every time. I have tested the scale on different types of flooring with consistent readings as well. The my only disappointment is with the VeSync app which is required if you want to connect your scale to your phone to view all your health metics with greater detail and track your progress over time. The VeSync app is a smart home app first designed to connect all your Etekcity products in one place and the health and fitness functionality seems like only a secondary feature and somewhat of an afterthought. It is full of ads and shopping features designed toward getting you to purchase more Etekcity smart home products. If you already own other Etekcity products it is nice to connect and control everything from one place, however it disappoints as a health and fitness tracking app. You are able to connect and send your data from VeSync to other apps such as Apple Health, MyFitnessPal, and Apple Health, but you still have to use the VeSync app to connect to the scale and send that data to other services rather than connecting any of those apps directly to the scale. Many health and fitness apps such as Garmin Connect and Google Fit and Samsung Health are disappointingly not included as options to connect to VeSync either. I use Garmin connect for all my other health and fitness tracking, so not being able to connect to the Garmin Connect app is the biggest negative for me.

It must be on a level surface. I really like how you can track your efforts over a long time. It charges by USB. It's pretty big. Wide. The quality is Excellent. The value is very affordable for what you get from this scale. I totally recommend to everyone.

It's easy to set up. Just download the app and create your account there. Then follow the steps it gives you. You do not have to be computer savvy at all for this. Make sure you place the scale on a hard surface. Stand on the scale till it flashes numbers three times and then your weight will appear. Readings will be immediate. This scale is super durable and goes up to 400 pounds. It has USB charging. Perfect size as to not take up too much space. Gives you 12 essential measurements. You can sync with Apple health, Google fit, fitbit or Samsung health even. Connect to your phone via Bluetooth. The most amazing part is it tracks your efforts over weeks, months, even years. That way you can visually see your progress or when your falling back so you can get back on track. Like I said before it's an amazing product like no other I have ever seen. The quality is great and at a great value for what it does. Easy to read your results and take them with you via phone after. Super easy to keep track of your progress. Highly recommend to anyone interested in a healthier weight and lifestyle.

The app is super easy to use and stores all the information in a nice and clean format. Setup was super easy and it's enjoyable to finally get a very real and accurate weight measurement. I found that the readings are accurate. This fitness scale uses a USB charging cable (included). This is probably the only con that I have about this scale because I keep my scale in my bathroom and find it to be a nuisance to charge (the only outlets in my bathroom are being used to I need to bring it downstairs to charge). I do like how you can keep track of your body mass and it the results. I use Apple Health and it’s easy to sync. It doesn’t take long to charge is fitness scale, about 3 hours or so and the battery lasts for awhile. I’d recommend this fitness scale. It’s easy to read and also super easy to set up.

The app is helpful and syncs with my Fitbit app to track my weight loss progress. It works through both WiFi and Bluetooth. The charging cable is very short so I had to put the scale on my counter to charge it. It was easy to set up. The digital numbers are large enough making it easy to read.

Not only does it give me my weight, but other info like body mass, water weight, etc. And, it automatically syncs to my watch. Now I don't have to remember to log it in anymore. Works with Fitbit too, if you have one. Affordable, easy to set up, and all the info I could want. SO happy with this scale!!

Being able to connect the scale to my phone and see all my stats on the app is amazing. Etekcity makes high-quality products that are durable and well designed. The scales look good with my bathroom decor. I am so amazed at all the features it has. What I love best is the scale Bluetooth/wifi, anti-skid paddings, and USB charger. I can track my progress with the VeSync app I downloaded from the Google play store, also available from the Apple store. My Fitbit and My fitness pal data are, synced with my smart scale. It makes it easy for me to keep up with my progress. I did get this scale for my personal use but, the good thing is this scale can automatically recognize different people when being used. I like how precise and accurate the scale is when weighing. With the VeSync app, I can view twelve essential body measurements and graphs. The scale was easy to set up and calibrate. I highly recommend this product. It is a durable scale with the capacity to weigh up to a 400-pound person. I am so glad I got it I am now looking forward to starting a healthier journey.

This is nice that you can easily track everything on your phone and see your progress not only in weight but BMI, bone mass, muscle, water, fat, etc. This is a really nice upgrade from the normal scales that have been the same thing for 100s of years.

I easily downloaded the recommended VeSync app through the Google play store before setting up the scale. Once I created an account, I followed the instructions to connect the scale to wifi and connect to my phone via bluetooth. After that was completed I was ready to try out the scale! Important to note, the scale can be used to calculate weight at any point, although if you want the additional health metrics (i.e fat, muscle, bmi) you must step on the scale in bare feet. The scale first calculates weight, but then within a few seconds the additional health metrics will show on the scale. The information then transfers to your VeSync app to track your progress. The screen time outs after 30 seconds of use for privacy. A nice feature of this scale is that it charges via USB and won't require you to change out batteries periodically. It came with a slight battery charge, just enough to complete setup, but needed placed on the charger afterwards. It took roughly 2.5-3 hours to fully charge and unsure at this point how long it will last on a full charge. Its very sleak and sharp in appearance and will look stylish in whatever room you decide to use it in. My husband and I have a hiking trip booked in the spring and we plan on getting in shape ahead of the trip, looking forward to utilizing this scale in the process to help us reach our goals.
