Plates ruined first night of use, you can’t let silverware touch scrape the surface of the plates at all or marks will be left … I have 4 children and all four plates are left with marks after first use.

I am VERY DISAPPOINTED in this dish set. I have used them 3 times and the scratches on the plates are really bad. So DISAPPOINTED. I will NOT be keeping these at all. With all the scratches they already have they do not look nice as a table setting

The scratches

I would never recommend these dishes to anyone. As soon as you eat of them it scratches the plates and bowls so fast. They are so ugly now I only had them for a few months

Great value for the price but keep Bar Keepers Friend on hand!

I recently picked up the Avesta in Light Green and you really can’t beat the $25 price tag. As someone who did pottery in college, I’m usually pretty picky about glazes. I actually chose this set over more expensive ones because the glaze was much more uniform; many of the other "artisan" sets in-store had visible bubbles or pitting that I wasn't a fan of. One thing to note: The salad plates are a bit on the small side (more like a dessert or bread plate), so I’m planning to supplement with some larger 8.5" patterned plates to fill out the table. TIP ON SCRATCHES: Because this is a semi-matte stoneware, your silverware will eventually leave gray "pencil marks" on the surface. Don’t panic—it’s not a scratch! It’s just metal deposit. You can buff them right off with a little Bar Keepers Friend or a baking soda paste, and they’ll look brand new again.

Beautiful but poor quality

I should’ve read reviews first but I impulse bought these at the store. They are so pretty and a good size but scratch at the slightest touch from a dishwasher or silverware. They are cheap so I guess you get what you pay for when it comes to this.

Great quality but scratch easily

These scratch so much from silverware and the dishwasher. We’ve used them daily for 6.5 years, so they are durable and great quality, just have lots of scratches.

Have had the set for about 2 years now. Scratches easily, so you can see every cut or mark from knives/forks. Good for a starting set and is just now starting to chip.
