Did I NEED a $50 paper towel holder? Absolutely not. Does it look gorgeous on my countertop? Yes, it does. The build itself is not metal. It feels like a painted plastic that looks like brass, which honestly is a little disappointing, but it doesn’t look or feel cheap. The bottom is weighted so when you pull the paper towel with one hand, the unit doesn’t budge. Overall, I really like it. It was a splurge but it does make a difference, aesthetically speaking.

Well, I never thought I would admit to loving a paper towel holder but. . this one is so well designed it just can’t be helped! Fantastic ergonomics allow for the infamous one hand tear. Easy to refill. While boasting an attractive and functional design.

It works well j til the roll gets about 3/4 used. Then when you pull try to pull a sheet off it just u winds. It needs better tension.

Tension Arm paper Towel holder
I really didn’t want the paper towel sitting out on my island next to the sink, but absent any workable alternative convenience won out. The Simplehuman paper towel holder is a great balance of form and function. While it’s still [conveniently] sitting out, the design makes it look intentional and blends with other stainless steel appliances. The tension arm is a game changer and significant improvement over cheap big box store designs. This product is well worth the price. I highly recommend it.
