Q: What's the difference been an area rug and a carpet, and why can this machine only clean area rugs but not carpets?

A: Carpet is generally thicker, higher threads and has a padding underlayment that can hold moisture. You would use this only on rugs that don't have padding underneath

I love my shark hydro vac! having 3 kids and 3 pets makes my house and floors messy!! this makes it a breeze to clean up as it basically sweeps AND mops without a bucket!! Just remember to empty the dirty water and clean the basket every time and your good to go. I love this so much I even bought one for work! My workers love the ease of use as well!! I am looking at getting another one just in case! I love it so much!! The kids offer to clean as well!! 😍 I use it on my vinyl floors and throw rugs.

Absolutely LOOOVE our new cordless HydroVac MessMaster! It’s exactly what we needed in our life to make cleaning the floors a breeze! We have 2 large dogs who tend to track in all the nasty and a baby who loves to crawl all over… We needed something to make cleaning easier and THIS IS IT! I actually look forward to waking up in the morning, enjoying my coffee and get to HydroVacuuming right away so the floors are ready for my little one to get movin’ & groovin’!😁 P.S. We did originally order the HydroDuo, I thought I wanted to be able to control the amount of water that came out but honestly found that too difficult… not only that but the HydroDuo (also cordless) didn’t have enough power to get the job done which was frustrating… lastly the dirty water tank is super tiny in that one (it was overflowing immediately when we tried to clean up some spilled milk) even more frustrating. If your like us and want to save a few bucks, don’t bother with the HydroDuo just go HYDROVAC ALL THE WAY!

It’s a really bad mop and even worse vacuum. It doesn’t reach the edge and corners of a floor by a good 6 inches. It just pushed hair all around my apartment rather than vacuuming anything up. It leaves soap residue everywhere and I cleaned it more than I would a regular mop. Don’t waste your money. Buy a vacuum and a Swiffer mop instead.

I bought the Shark Hydro vac Mess master in April. Everything worked fine until July. The vacuum cleaner stopped working. I went through the troubleshooting guide and the vacuum still doesn’t work. Called Shark and after a few calls I got a replacement vacuum cleaner. I will wait and see how long this vacuum works.

The water compartments need to be alittle bigger. This is very high maintenance product. I don’t think it’s worth the money. I’m definitely returning this item. The pan should not hold water with the cleaning cycle when docked.

It's does not clean and suck as shown. This would NEVER pick up spaghetti. I have to sweep or swifter before hand because I have a hairy dog. Even the little amount of hair left behind doesn't even get sucked up. It just pushes the wet hair around the floor. The dog also came in with muddy paws. I immediately got my shark to clean up. It smeared the dirt around too! I waited for it to dry and tried again. It wasn't strong enough to clean that up either. I had to get a wet cloth and use my hands to scrub it off. Unbelievable what the video shows it does in comparison to what it really does do.

I was so excited to open and use my new vacuum and to find out it was USED. It SMELLED SO BAD.. HORRIBLE. if I could give NO stars I would. The solution was opened and used. Almost halfway empty. There was hair and smelly dirt already in the moping brush. Hair tangled up in it. It was disgusting.

I expected a bit more from this model. I'm a diehard Shark fan and got this as my Christmas gift 6 months ago. It DID NOT work on my hardwood floors. The mop function didn't pick up dirt, as promised, and the water just leaked all over the place. I took it to work as the floor is perfectly smooth and flat, but it still leaks and leaves dirt. I may have just gotten a lemon, I'm not sure, but I've stopped using it cuz I'm tired of mopping afterwards.

I bought this on clearance for $90 and now i can see why it was on sale😬. It worked fine at first… It doesnt do good on sticky sugary messes. Today i was vacuuming as usual until i noticed foamy bubbles coming out from the sides. I tried cleaning the interior of the vaccume with water and i even diluted the formula even more but the foamy bubbles still kept coming out. At some point i threw away the solution and was going to vaccume with just water but it didnt help. Now My floors are now filled with foamy bubbles and now i have to go back to the good old fashioned mop to clean it up 😠.

I purchased this as a supposed upgrade. If you have any type of grout tile forget about this. Even a simple spill it won’t collect most of the water if any. It didn’t work for days with all the symbols showing. For the price I shouldn’t have to tape sensors for it to work.

Bought the original unit a few months ago (5-6) and it worked okay ish for 3-4 months, then it worked it's own grave,spewing water and bubbles out of the motor when the dirty tank was empty. Called support, they were great, sent out a new unit. Not even 2 months or roughly 15-20 uses, the motor starts SCREAMING for mercy on the new unit, called support and they stated it's nearly a 200 dollar part, but still warranty able, but I would have to cover shipping costs, even though it's a manufacturer issue! These things are junk! Work until they don't. (They don't more than they do.) Don't recommend unless you want to deal with multiple issues.

It was ok for a quick clean , it didn get dried sticky juice or soda off the floor hardly , it doesn’t clean tile floor like in the cracks. And leaves a good 2-3 inches dirty from edges of walls and corners. Even after self clean if you leave sit for 2-3 a forget to clean the whole thing yourself it grew mold in just a couple days . To sweep the edges then vacuum mop them to clean out every piece of this mop was to much so much easers just to sweep with a broom get the mop out dump an go .

I got this vacuum to minimize the time it takes me to vacuum and mop when people are coming over. It is advertised as pet hair friendly but the only thing it does is leave the hair pressed to the floor. It vacuums maybe 20% of the dog hair, and half of that hair gets spit out again. It might work for you if you do not own any pets.

The roller is too wet even after cleaning on the base, and it leaves a puddle under the mop. It starts to stink because the mop roller is over the wet and it doesnt dry fast enough. I am going to order a second roller so I can switch them out to give time to dry. Other than that, I thought my floors were pretty clean using the cedar mop w seperate water chamber, but I was wrong. My floors were so nasty on first use. Now I use every day or 2 and its still gross but not like the first time.
