Just received this item. It is a bit flimsy and thin. The board cracks when screws are inserted. I do not believe it will last very long. Will return before 30 days for sure. I gave it 3 stars because the instructions was easy to follow.

The shelves are sturdy but the back is flimsy. It’s a nice color rustic looking brown. The unit is not exactly easy to assemble. Takes two people to assemble.

Frustrated & Disappointed – Damaged Shelves After Hours of Assembly

I’m currently pregnant and spent over two hours carefully putting this bookshelf together for my baby’s room. Everything was going well until the very last steps when I noticed that two of the shelves were badly cracked and split, making them completely unstable and unsafe for use. I immediately called Target customer service and explained the issue, hoping they could just send me replacement shelves — which seems like a reasonable request given how far I got into assembly and the fact that it was clearly a manufacturer defect. However, I was informed that because this is a Target Plus item (third-party seller), my only option is to return the entire unit and repurchase it. Not only is that inconvenient, but it’s extremely frustrating to have to completely disassemble something I already spent time and energy building — especially in my condition — and then start over from scratch. I will not be buying any Target Plus items in the future. This experience has been discouraging, inconvenient, and not at all customer-friendly.

Solid design & build, fast delivery

Similar to those famous "B" bookcases from the big "I" furniture chain that won't deliver. Well, Target delivered them quickly & at no additional charge. Arrived in perfect condition, all the holes & cuts perfect, went together without problem. Be advised that assembly might be a bit challenging for beginners, so if that's you, consider getting a friend to help.
